Job Description

The Production & Purchasing Supervisor will identify, qualify, and manage suppliers essential for the operations of the China facility. In addition to the primary role of supply chain management, this function will be more broadly responsible for many operational needs including: inventory management, supplier quality, product quality, cost control, and assurance of on-time deliveries. Close coordination with R&D and Engineering is expected with both the local China team, as well as with US-based team. This position reports to the China General Manager directly.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualify key suppliers, ensuring lowest cost, highest quality, and reliable lead times.

• Continually assess product costs and process improvements in general

• Help maintain, manage, and implement as required the Fiberguide Quality Management System, consistent with ISO9001 requirements.

• Manage production plans per monthly revenue target and forecasts

• Drive and maintain internal and external NCR’s, CAR’s and SCAR’s

• Coordinate and assist with Engineering material needs, manufacturing process improvement, ECO

• Manage and report on inventory status monthly and quarterly.

• As required, identify low cost alternative suppliers for US-based manufacturing.

• Maintain and improve as required, necessary production and purchasing documents

• Assist with supplier and customer quality audits

• Assist with fiscal monthly closing

• Help manage necessary customer returns (RMA’s)
  

Requirements

• 3+ years purchasing or supplier chain management, experience in machining work is an advantage

• Production management experience in photonics, optics or fiber optics industry helpful, but not required

• Familiar with ERP systems, experience in Kingdee system is an advantage.

• Familiar with ISO9001 and LEAN Manufacturing.

• Relevant work experience in a global company, and able to handle multiple projects/tasks are preferred

• Bachelor Degree in science, engineering, and/or management.
