Job Title: Field Application Specialist

Position Summary:

Provide instrument and consumable product training and support to customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite, hands-on customer training on product use and instrument operation, including troubleshooting
  • Assist customer with implementation of instrument systems into their work environment
  • Assist with LIS set up and operation
  • Provide assistance to sales and marketing through training, defining customer requirements, and determining any required customizations
  • Develop training material as required
  • Assist with problem resolution of field support, sales, customer support or technical support
  • Schedule training at customer sites
  • Provide post training support to customers
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction through maximizing their experience with our products
  • Assist marketing in the development of technical sales training materials and in sales training
  • Coordinate technical teleconferences

In addition, other duties may be assigned as the business need warrants.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree preferred with working knowledge of Microbiology and Microbiology Lab
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and software problems
  • Demonstrate highly developed verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Be able to make immediate decisions, improvise when necessary
  • Clearly communicate directions
  • Highly developed organization skills
  • Knowledge of FDA Regulations and understanding of CLSI, CAP and CLIA requirements relating to customer needs
  • Understanding of good laboratory practice and techniques
  • Proficiency in computer applications
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish preferred
  • Ability to travel 80% – 100% during peak periods
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision from a home office
  • Willingness to provide phone support during off-peak periods of travel
