YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Research and Development III, are to: 

• Solve problems of moderate to extensive scope, with team members in other analytical labs;
• Optimize workflows;
• Validate methods using multiple data sources;
• Demonstrate good judgement when identifying and implementing process improvements;
• Be accountable for cross-functional work in multiple platforms or process areas;
• Execute various lab analysis in a high throughput setting;
• Make typically a routine, technically diverse and sophisticated assignment using robotics to deliver daily and weekly targets;
• Adhere to established protocols and techniques;
• Operate and troubleshoot instrumentation;
• Solve problems autonomously using multiple data sources;
• Prioritize and coordinate work within a large team and provide training to contingent workforce;
• Maintain detailed record keeping and required documentation;
• Achieve commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols and best practices;
• Help design and analyze the results of experiments under supervision of senior scientists;
• Perform a variety of molecular biology and biochemistry experiments;
• Prepare reposts with large data sets for supervisor review, unfer time constraints, across various project types;
• Communicate and interpret results of experiments, production Key Performance Indicators, cost/benefit analysis and lab related issues to partners and key stakeholders;
• Thrive on meeting challenges, insist on high quality deliverables, demonstrate effective problem solving skills and will have proven initiative in some categories of accomplishments, either individually or as a part of a group;
• Demonstrate knowledge of specialized lab and scientific techniques.

Required Qualifications:

• Non degreed with at least 12 years of relevant experience in Molecular Biology, Plant Biology, Plant Physiology, CropScience, Entomology, Weed Science or Plant Pathology or Bachelor of Science with at least four years of related experience in academia or industry or Master of Science in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field with at least one year of relevant experience;
• Acumen with the ability to independently design experiments and analyze data;
• High throughput laboratory or field automation experience with mechanical aptitude for operating and troubleshooting automation proficiency with data analysis and visualization software.
