Job Description
The Field Installation Team Technician (FIT) role is responsible for assisting field service Field Service activities assigned to the Field Installation Team. Technician must have Industry experience in Electrical and/or Instrument Tubing to qualify for this Technical role. The goal of this position is to ensure the highest quality of service, repair, and problem solving associated with Siemens AP products for both internal and external customers. The Houston-based Service group is part of the Analytics Systems Support Group within the GCI business unit of Siemens Industry, Inc. The GCI business unit manufactures the Siemens Maxum Gas Chromatograph, System Integration projects, and provides support for Siemens analytical products. Our technicians are located throughout the continental US and are responsible for supporting North America, South America, Mexico, and Canada service activities. Responsibilities • Promote a safe working environment • Promote and maintain a professional team atmosphere • Ensure customer satisfaction by working closely with on-sites teams, providing additional service coverage when needed, and meeting all site safety and work requirements • Encourage and promote a self-directed team discipline for the Field Installation Technicians in accordance to Corporate Guidelines • Identify opportunities for improvement in technical expertise and work with Supervisor to ensure service excellence is achieved • Work with Engineering and Systems Integration as necessary to identify areas where improvement can be made to enhance maintenance accessibility and reduce start-up time • This position will require a minimum of 50% field work – must participate in safety programs, keep site specific requirements up to date, have a valid TWIC card Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience with Siemens Gas Chromatograph Analyzers, Sample System equipment, System Integration projects and CEMS packages Minimum of 5 years within the Chemical/Refining Industries Demonstrated leadership with a proven track record of accomplishments with Teams/Programs • Effective interpersonal skills including effective internal and external communications and crisis/conflict resolution skills • Ability to work professionally with all levels of internal/external customers • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and assist team members as required • Knowledge of process control, process control systems (DCS), analyzers Data Handling Acquisition Systems (DHAS) • Must have Electrical and/or Instrument Tubing experience both in working Plant and on Production Floor • This position includes a company vehicle. Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing. Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience 5+ years Industry / Analytical Experience Extensive technical knowledge in Siemens Analytical Products and Sample Systems System Integration knowledge including alarm systems, electrical wiring, troubleshooting experience.
