What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will report directly to affiliate hematology lead and:

  • Consolidate pediatric OLs relationship to support data generating & data disseminating activities and educational program;
  • Support activities to communicate the comprehensive pediatric ALL clinical program and reinforce advocacy and cooperation with regional hospitals;
  • Collect field insights for  internal stakeholders in coordination with MSL Head;
  • Support the Local Medical strategy and Medical activities for the product in accordance to internal and external regulations​;
  • Engage with healthcare stakeholders to educate and communicate clinical and scientific data to advance the scientific platform as aligned with Amgen’s corporate goals and objectives;
  • Execute OLs scientific engagement plan according to annual MSL goals and metrics;
  • ​Educates and communicates clinical value, outcomes, and economic data to payers, providers, key stakeholders, advocacy, and access enablers;
  • Coordinate and support field congress activities as aligned with strategy;
  • Support speaker training as requested and ensure the speakers are updated on new data;
  • Respond to unsolicited inquiries consistent with the MSL compliance standards;
  • Provide input into site selection for AST’s;
  • Develop and execute better recruitment strategies in conjunction with Local DFO team​;
  • Review Local ISS proposals prior to approval and ensures appropriate Local review prior to IPRC submission, if applicable​;
  • Participate in/conducts Advisory Board Meetings, Investigator Meetings and/or Expert Panels​;
  • Provide and/or present field observations and insights to internal stakeholders;
  • Oversees in-sourced/outsourced MSLs Medical programs and logistics​;
  • Collaborate in the execution of the scientific engagement plan according to annual MSL goals and metrics;
  • Participate on project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics in agreement with MSL Head ;
  • Advance MSL value proposition, identify gaps, achieve results, and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgen values and leadership attributes. Demonstrate tact and professionalism when communicating and interacting with others;
  • Partner with the field brand manager in the development and execution of the product management plan​.

Outputs

  • Local support for Medical questions, feasibility and trial strategy​;
  • Protocols and other study documents for local AST​;
  • Medical expertise for the review of promotional and scientific documents (e.g. symposia, publications etc.)​;
  • Site identification/profiling, plans and reports;
  • Documentation of MSL quantitative (CRM system) and qualitative accomplishments;
  • Provision and/or presentation of field insights;
  • Educational program and congress key learnings.

  • Medical education or deep scientific expertise in relevant therapeutic area​;
  • Minimum of 2 years in pharmaceutical industry, or proven industry collaboration in academia ;
  • Experience in affiliate Medical Department or Clinical Development​;
  • Experience with clinical study management and conduct​;
  • Knowledge of commercialization and business practices​.

Preferred Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree or Master’s degree in Sciences;
  • 2 years of industry experience in Scientific/Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company;
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical product development, product lifecycle and commercialization process with advanced understanding of other functions; including, but not limited to, Clinical Operations, Commercial, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs​;
  • Therapeutic area knowledge ​;
  • Network of customer contacts in therapeutic area​.
