Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Field Planning Lead, are to: 

 

  • Create a centralized capacity and demand plan for all Field Solutions trials which includes available land and required land for treatments, labor costs, seed and effort to conduct trials;
  • Lead a small team of 2-6 specialists to work globally across regions to drive harmonization & optimization of field trial planning, allocation and design;
  • Harmonize planning and allocation expanding to all indications, crops and all handoff processes;
  • Establish relationships with the regions to understand the indications and protocol crop focus;
  • Develop a strategy to reconcile the global capacity and demand plans for Field Solutions;
  • Define allocation strategy to enable trial placement in the best locations to drive decisions;
  • Connect field trial demand and allocation to a financial plan to determine resource utilization;
  • Provide a multi-year global field trial forecast for all Field Solutions protocols and trials;
  • Create documents to identify dates and deadlines to drive operations and decisions;
  • Optimize field testing and logistics coordination to create a more efficient process;
  • Create data solutions and visualizations to provide transparency to the field trial forecast/plan;
  • Deliver pipeline tracking and forensics to identify gaps, causes and improvement opportunities;
  • Collaborate with Automation & Pipeline Connectivity, Agronomic Solutions, Agronomic Operations and R&D IT to plan & design trial management IT systems;
  • Identify and develop new innovation, analytics, models and automation to optimize field trial capacity and demand planning, trial allocation and protocol management;
  • Conduct small-scale discovery projects to try out new ideas and new ways of working.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Ph.D. in Sciences, Engineering or related field with a minimum of 6 years relevant experience; OR
  • M.S. in Sciences, Engineering or related field with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience; OR
  • B.S. in Sciences, Engineering or related field with a minimum of 12 years relevant experience;
  • Excellent communication and influential leadership skills;
  • Visionary mindset and ability to think creatively and act strategically;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments and ambiguous situations;
  • High ability to solve problems and to structure and simplify complex tasks;
  • Sound agricultural knowledge of crops and international crop cultivation;
  • Strong scientific methods of working, optimization and innovation mindset, outside-the-box attitude, positive thinking;
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute in an international and dynamic research and development team;
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and written;
  • Ability to travel 15%.
