Eaton’s Marketing Commercial Operations Division is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Wilsonville, OR, City of Industry, CA, Chandler, AZ, or Roseville, CA location. If residing outside 50 miles of this location, relocation will be offered for this position. Position Overview: The primary function of a Field Project Engineer is to support the PMO Mission through mitigating risk, creating demand, and improving productivity. This position supports the Project Manager through technical ownership of the order and creates a positive customer experience through a proactive approach to project support and issue resolution. This position leverages centralized resources to manage documentation and resolve issues and builds relationships across customers and Eaton facilities to deliver a successful project. This position works independently on daily tasks, taking direction from local Project Managers and reporting into the PMO Engineering Manager. In this function you will: Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external customers for assigned projects. Review and interpret contract drawings and specifications ensuring technical accuracy. Manage technical changes to the bill of material. Coordinate and interpret engineered to order drawings. Leverage centralized resources to create project submittal and operations and maintenance documentation. Provide technical support and follow through to drive all warranty issues to closure. Serve as the customer’s advocate by relaying the appropriate level of urgency to peer contacts in the operations and escalating issues as required to management. Pursue continuous learning of products and applications related to engineered products. Work closely with the Project Management Team including Project Managers, Sales Engineers, Project Coordinators, other Project Engineers, and the Documentation Team. Why work at Eaton? Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum 3 years of work experience within the electrical industry Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license Sponsorship is not available. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without requiring company sponsorship. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other technical field Electrical industry expertise and product knowledge with focus on following customer bases: commercial construction, industrial construction, and/or oil and gas. Prior contractor, sales, and/or sales support experience Position Criteria: Possess technical aptitude, market channel knowledge and power distribution experience. Capable of working in a team environment, using strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to establish customer relationships within the market area while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships. Knowledgeable of Eaton product and service capabilities and can assemble standard offerings to meet customer needs with occasional internal oversight. Possess necessary computer skills including: Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, Internet applications, Microsoft Office applications, and other product configuration tools. Possess organizational, presentation, training, and planning skills. Ability to travel 10% of the time. Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices.
