Eaton’s Marketing Commercial Operations Division is currently seeking a Field Based Project Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our New York, NY or Mountainside, NJ locations. If residing outside 50 miles, relocation will be offered. Position Overview: The primary function of a Field Project Engineer is to support the PMO Mission through mitigating risk, creating demand, and improving productivity. This position supports the Project Manager through technical ownership of the order and creates a positive customer experience through a proactive approach to project support and issue resolution. This position leverages centralized resources to manage documentation and resolve issues and builds relationships across customers and Eaton facilities to deliver a successful project. This position works independently on daily tasks, taking direction from local Project Managers and reporting into the PMO Engineering Manager. In this function you will: Review of project specifications and contracts Review of order specifics prior to entry ensuring technical accuracy Manage technical changes to the bill of material Coordinate and interpret plant drawings Leverage centralized resources for the creation of the submittal package Close all warranty issues Review operations and maintenance materials Ensure accurate information flows to and from the customer in a timely manner When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. Minimum 3 years of work experience in an applicable field. Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or other technical field Electrical industry experience and product knowledge with focus on the following customer bases: Wastewater treatment, Government, Utility, Commercial Construction, etc. Position Criteria: Possess technical sales aptitude, market channel knowledge and power distribution / power quality expertise Capable of working in a team environment, using strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to establish customer relationships within the market area while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships Knowledgeable of Eaton product and service capabilities and can assemble standard offerings to meet customer needs with occasional internal oversight Possess necessary computer skills including: Adobe Acrobat, AutoCAD, Internet applications, Microsoft Office applications, and other product configuration tools Possess organizational, presentation, training, and planning skills Knowledgeable of market and industry issues, key trends, and surround competitors We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
