YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Field Research Agronomist (Technology Development Rep III) - Eastern Texas, are to: 

  • Collect, summarize, and present product performance information for sales, agronomy, and customers;
  • Serve as local expert on commercial products and uses;
  • Be responsible for product training to sales, key customers, and local new hires;
  • Provide input to Product Development on changes, expansions, and local label needs;
  • Safely organize and execute high level Technology Development national field trial research program;
  • Lead regional field trial implementation & co-lead national trial development;
  • Mentor peers and summer employees and shares best management practices when possible;
  • Successfully collect and enter relevant field trial data;
  • Present relevant field trial data to regional teams & partners;
  • Identify & support business need for technical information: Seed, trait, biologicals, crop protection, agronomic systems for the local geography to assist in driving the commercial business;
  • Act as regional technical expert for new commercial offerings in seed, trait, biologicals or crop protection for local geography;
  • Address key technical issues (i.e. weed resistance management) and support communication to stakeholders (i.e. Agronomy, academics) and identify opportunities for research collaborations;
  • Coordinate research site activities including; ESH (safety), compliance, manage contract staff. Identify opportunities to enhance research site operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • B.S. degree in agriculture or related discipline with minimum of ten years of experience in agronomy, sales, field development or R&D related roles, or M.S. with at least eight years or Ph.D. and a minimum four years’ in Agriculture or related discipline;
  • Excellent understanding of germplasm, traits, & crop protection in the assigned geography;
  • Understands opportunities for developing enhanced agronomic systems;
  • Excellent technical & sales support (regional influence);
  • Obtain and maintain a pesticide applicator certification in the state(s) within the territory.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds if necessary (a bag of seed)
  • Ability to pass a driving record background check (i.e. moving violations, accidents, license suspension, etc.).
  • Federal regulations from the Department of Transportation cover this position and mandate the passing of certain pre-employment requirements, such as a background check, drug test and physical.
