YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Field Research Agronomist / Technology Development Representative (Arkansas), are to: 

 

  • Collect, summarize, and present product performance information for sales, agronomy, and customers;
  • Serve as local expert on commercial products and uses;
  • Be responsible for product training to sales, key customers, and local new hires;
  • Provide input to Product Development on changes, expansions, and local label needs;
  • Safely organize and execute high level Technology Development national field trial research program, including identify suitable trial locations and cooperators, research plot establishment and maintenance as required;
  • Develop and help lead regional field trial implementation;
  • Successfully collect and enter relevant field trial data;
  • Present relevant field trial data to local teams;
  • Identify and support business need for technical information – Seed, trait, biologicals, crop protection, agronomic systems - for the local geography to assist in driving the commercial business;
  • Act as local technical lead for new commercial offerings in seed, trait, biologicals or crop protection for local geography;
  • Address key technical issues (i.e. weed resistance management) and support communication to stakeholders (i.e. Agronomy, academics) and identify opportunities for research collaborations;
  • Act as a local influence on business relationships (internal, academics, & other external partners);
  • Recruit, hire and manage summer assistants;
  • Coordinate research site activities including; ESH (safety), compliance, manage contract staff. Execute demos & key sales support activities where relevant.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s of Science degree in agriculture or related discipline with minimum of seven years of experience in agronomy, sales, field development or R&D related roles, or Master’s of Science degree with at least five years of experience or Ph.D. with at least two years in Agriculture or related discipline;
  • Strong understanding of Bayer germplasm, traits, and crop protection in the assigned geography;
  • Make recommendations on agronomic components and systems;
  • Strong technical and sales support (local influence);
  • Obtain and maintain a pesticide applicator certification in the state(s) within the territory.
