Within the CFT Technical Excellence organization, we have an open position for a:

Field Service Engineer, HPC Catalyst 

In this position, you will ensure Albemarle catalysts are satisfactory put in use. Next to that you will support Technical Design team with preparation work for modeling/simulation of the customer process. This vacancy is in Amsterdam.

Key focus and responsibilities, a.o.

  • Travel to customer sites and ensure Albemarle catalysts are satisfactory put in use

  • Supervision of catalyst loading, ensure Albemarle best practices are applied by catalyst loading companies

  • Actively participate in reactor start up’s on customer locations

  • Inspection and validation of mechanical integrity of reactor internals

  • Support technical design team with preparation work for modeling/simulation of the customer processes

  • Contribute actively to the growth of Refining Catalysts

  • This position may lead to several other interesting positions we have like Technical Design Engineer or Technical Sales.

Background and experience

  • MSc in Chemical Engineering or equivalent; Strong BSc candidates with proven experience will also be considered

  • Minimum of 2 years of petroleum refining experience, preferably with basic knowledge on hydroprocessing fundamentals. Experience with catalyst loading supervision, hydrocracking or hydrotreating start-ups or reactor inspection, is a plus.

  • Fluent in English, other language skills appreciated

  • Next to the language skills, candidate needs to have good reporting skills required for the preparation of the catalyst loading, inspection and startup reports in English

  • Good interpersonal skills, result oriented, disciplined

  • Ability to learn and develop his/her negotiation skills;

  • Ability to work in an autonomous way

  • Willing to travel at least 50% of time

  • Willing and capable to work shifts at the refineries during reactor inspection, catalyst loading and startup activities
