Location/Division
Thermo Fisher Scientific is currently recruiting a Field Service Engineer, to work independently and as part of a Field Service organization to support the Clinical Analyzer at customer sites/laboratories. Duties extending throughout North America as and when required to support customers and team escalations.

What will you do?
- Work from a home office in the Oakwood Village area (COLUMBUS, OH), being available to travel around 70% of your time, mainly to customers in your direct region of responsibility, occasionally to other regions (nationally and internationally) often at short notice.
- Perform liquid chromatography - mass spectrometry-based service, preventive maintenance, installation and repairs on customer sites, also providing remote support and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with Sales and Business development team to perform on site support, demonstrations, supporting exhibitions and sales visits as and when required.
- Share experience and best practice of product services and applications with colleagues. Contribute to knowledge base to allow continued improvement of work efficiency and effectiveness.
- Effectively communicate with Hotline, Field Application Specialist, Support Specialist, Service management, Sales Representatives and Sales Management.
- Actively participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance work quality and effectiveness.
- Always be client-focused and customer centric, working in conjunction with Sales and Service teams in relation to corporate goals and objectives
- Accurately document field support activities, including qualification and service reports, expense report and timely submit through the required systems.
How will you get here?
Education
- 2+ years’ professional experience and a degree in life sciences or Engineering discipline
Experience
- Hands-on experience of liquid chromatography and mass spectrometry instrumentation, software and applications are essential
- Experience in IVD industry customer support is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Have solid working knowledge of analytical instrumentation and Field Service experience in installation, servicing, troubleshooting of high-end instrumentation
- Ability and mindset to quickly diagnose and resolve technical analytical problems in a challenging environment
- Ability to work independently and prioritize workload in an effective manner
- Be passionate about service and customers and be able to quickly diagnose and resolve technical analytical problems in a challenging environment
