Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Service & Systems Division is seeking a Power Distribution Technician to join our team. This position will be based out of our Manassas, VA office location. Position Overview: The Power Distribution Technician is responsible for providing field service support and consultation such as acceptance testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of low, medium, and high voltage systems. You will advise customers and provide best technical solutions to solve customer issues. You will complete assigned jobs with assistance from lead technicians and engineers. In addition, you will conduct required tests and calibration using test equipment and check and maintain equipment to ensure compliance with applicable standards.  In this function you will: Work on assigned projects for electrical equipment Deliver technical solutions to customers Perform less conventional complex engineering assignments that may involve equipment or product design, testing of materials, process studies, or research investigations Display proficiency in the following: Test Equipment Operation, Troubleshooting Techniques, Protective Relays, Power Quality Measurements, Disaster Recovery, Rotating Machinery, Protection & Control Design Why work at Eaton? All candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the work locations listed. No relocation will be offered for this position. Active Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical or engineering technology) from an accredited institution. Experience performing power quality measurements, troubleshooting, and analysis is highly desirable. Experience with protective relays is highly desirable. Position Success Criteria: Strong computer skills Understanding of the company's and competitor's electrical, electronic and mechanical products and services. Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment. Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction.
