Eaton’s Power Quality and Services Division is hiring a Field Service Representative to join our team! This position will be located out of our Saint John or Moncton, New Brunswick service facility. Eaton’s Power Quality business is looking for an individual who will be responsible for servicing un-interruptible power supplies and batteries and other company electronic-based products in a high voltage environment at the customer’s site. In this function you will: Perform emergency and preventive maintenance and installation on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility. Be responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing and repair of company products. Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment. Serve as customer contact on technical and service-related problems. Act as a point of escalation for external customers. Participate in national strategic planning for Power Quality service organization, as well as regionally in coordination with the Eastern Regional Sales Manager and the Regional Service Sales Manager. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Diploma or Degree in Electronics from an accredited institution or Certified Electronic Technologist or Red Seal Interprovincial Journeyman Electrician. Minimum 5 years of UPS, battery technologies, electrical service or electronics experience. No relocation assistance is provided. Must be willing to travel to our office in Moncton, NB or St John, NB. Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: Must have the ability to utilize drawings, mathematics, handbook formulas and a variety of precision diagnostic instruments Must demonstrate proficiency on all products and field processes before being dispatched to the field Good understanding of single phase and three-phase circuit theory, analog and digital electronic circuit theory and microprocessor controls and programming Basic understanding of network functionality, fiber optics and sealed and wet celled battery theory and application Must be proficient in the use of test equipment and software programs Adheres to all published WSG safety standards Position Success Criteria: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Customer focus and time management skills are essential Strong analytical aptitude and complex problem-solving skills Intermediate/advanced knowledge of Microsoft office applications Effective time management, prioritization and project management skills Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment.
