Eaton’s Engineering Service & Systems Division is seeking a Field Service Representative (FSR) – Thermographer to join our team. This position is based at our Pleasanton or Roseville, CA location. Position Overview: Eaton’s Engineering Service & Systems division wants to help you fuel your career! Skilled proficiency in the following: Qualified Infrared thermography (IRT), thermal video and/or thermal imaging technician Level II or Level III certification by a reputable organization; achieved via training and formal demonstration of knowledge and skills Operational familiarity with major brands of portable IRT systems (Fluke, Flir) Able to independently set up and calibrate handheld thermographic equipment, capture thermograms, interpret results, and craft diagnostic reports based upon IRT Able to account for measurement effects such as distance, reflectivity, transmissivity and emissivity using infrared cameras and convey such evaluations to clients Able to operationally distinguish between hot spots and reflections, indirect vs. direct readings and qualitative vs. quantitative thermography practices and convey such evaluations to clients Able to determine arc flash (AF) potential based upon equipment nameplates or labeling to assess safety of obtaining IRT imagery and don appropriate PPE Position Criteria: Willing to travel within California and across the US (up to 25%) Willing and able to don proper Arc Flash PPE per corporate safety policies Proficient with Microsoft Office software Knowledge and practice of safety precautions related to working with electrical and electronic equipment. Demonstrated ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships to assure long-term customer satisfaction. Submit to periodic customer required background and drug screenings. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of practical IRT experience for electromechanical and industrial systems Minimum Level II certification conferred by a reputable organization Must possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license Legally Authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship Preferred qualifications: Experience in testing, troubleshooting, evaluating, and servicing electrical distribution and control systems is highly desirable. Able to guide and train Level I thermographers in safe and appropriate operation of IRT 5+ years practical IRT experience in industrial settings Certification in ultrasonic and ultrasound diagnostic technologies Technology or engineering Associate’s Degree Compliant to ASNT Recommended Practice No. SNT-TC-1A ISO18436-7 EN 16714-1 *Eligible for Enhanced Referral Program We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
