Job Description

AstraZeneca IT’s Global Infrastructure Services (GIS) team delivers public and private cloud services to internal customers. These services range from Cloud Advisory, Automation, Architecture through to Delivery. Cloud Advisory team who provide the customer interface to our internal and external Cloud services. The Cloud Advisory team is there to:

• Promote GIS services and solutions
• Identify and forecast demand for existing and new GIS services
• Capture customer requirements and business cases for change activities
• Prioritise and drive the development of new AZ Cloud services
• Provide AZ Cloud cost optimisation and management services in order that AZ get full value from its on-premise and public cloud investments

Cloud Advisory FinOps Analyst is accountable for:

• Analyze the cloud infrastructure and provide financial updates and optimization recommendations.
• Create metrics, reports, and recommended remediation options and plans for financial excellence in the cloud
• Performing the role of being a core technical team member in FinOps space.
• Increasing the Cloud Cost efficiency by optimising & automating - processes, technical tasks through collaboration across teams.
• Configure and manage cloud cost management & optimization tools (Apptio’s Cloudability, Morpheus etc) and automate actions.
• Participate in deep architectural discussions to help project teams make the most cost-efficient choices
• Lead regular cadence calls providing expert advice and consulting on cloud financial management activities
• Understanding new cloud services & technologies, pricing model and to explore optimisation best practices.
• Work with teams to implement resource tracking (tagging) structure.

Typical Accountabilities

Experience, Skills and Competencies

• Cloud:
• Understanding and experience in supporting applications in Public Cloud - AWS and/or Azure and/or GCP.
• Understanding and experience in supporting applications in Private Cloud environments.

FinOps:

• Foundation level knowledge of FinOps (Cloud Cost management & Optimisation) practices.
• Good understanding of all major public cloud providers (AWS /AZURE/GCP) pricing model
• Strong ability to analyze and interpret data and provide insights

Technical Skills:

• Experience with using cloud infrastructure automation tools, ie: Cloudformation
• Experience in orchestration and provisioning tools is required eg: Morpheus/Ansible/Terraforms
• Proven experience with scripting languages, ie: Ruby, Python, NodeJS,

Agile Delivery

• Understanding and experience of Agile principles and use of JiraOther Skills and Certification:
• Desirable to have experience with Apptio Cloudability
• High levels of self-organisation and the ability to multi-task across customers.
• Strong capability to engage, collaborate and raise discussions with all stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Passion for cloud technology and ability to articulate the cloud value proposition.
• Desirable to have Amazon Web Services Certifications - Entry-level AWS Associate certifications SysOps Administrator or Developer and Microsoft Certifications Solutions Associate (MCSA), Expert (MCSE) or Developer (MCSD).

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

Essential

• 5 to 6 yrs of total IT Experience
• Work effectively in a matrix organization

• Very Good Communication and Stakeholders Management Skills.
• Enthusiastic learner of new technologies and methodologies.

Skills and Capabilities

Essential

• Experience with at least 3 yrs of Cloud Technology, DevOps, Automation and Good Communication Skills.

Desirable

• Proficient in Cloud Cost management & Cost Optimisation and associated tools (Ex:Apptio Cloudability, NetApp SPOT.io)
