Job Description

The Role 

The incumbent will be responsible for finance, accounting, reporting and compliance activities of the assigned entities. He/she will manage all day-to-day finance operations. 

The role will ensure the integrity of the accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions. He/she is to work closely to support and interface with business line managers for better business operations. He/she will also be responsible for liaison with external auditors during the annual audit and all concerning audit and tax matters. 

This role will report into the Finance Director for Asia.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities 

Preparation of accounts

  • Ensure preparation of timely and accurate monthly management accounts, with variance commentary to inform stakeholders
  • Manage the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all tasks, with particular attention to revenue recognition
  • Review and approve all accounting entries and approve monthly trial balance
  • Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled regularly
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting records and financial systems
  • Production of statutory accounts and manage the audit cycle, as required and in accordance with local regulations

 

Budgets and forecasts

  • Preparation of budgets, forecasts and business plans ensuring continuous monitoring and review of performance 

 

Financial management & controls

  • Effectively manage working capital, including preparation of weekly cash forecasts
  • Active management of overheads and supporting the business in finding cost savings
  • Overseeing monthly payroll
  • Strive to develop and maintain a best in practise internal control environment
  • Seek out and implement continuous improvement opportunities in all areas of responsibility
  • Handle cross-border transactions and awareness of tax implications

 

Purchasing

  • Manage and develop the newly implemented purchasing process  

 

Taxation

  • Support and execute of the company’s taxation strategy
  • Ensure all relevant tax regulations and timelines are adhered to
  • Provide tax advisory to mitigate tax risks and exposure

 

Financial Direction

  • Monitoring business performance
  • Monitoring cash flow / projections
  • Overseeing and management of budgets
  • Providing financial direction to support strategic planning 

 

Relationship Management

  • Implementation of a change management culture by challenging & replacing established processes and procedures where necessary
  • Give direction and leadership towards the achievement of each business line strategy and its annual goals and objectives
  • Keep key stakeholders up to date on progress against key milestones
  • Ensure the Finance Director and MD are kept informed of industry developments which are relevant to the operation of an efficient finance function

 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy, Finance, ACCA or equivalent, with more than 10 years of relevant experience. Regional experience will be an advantage
  • Proficient in MS office application such as Excel, and accounting software
  • Experience in MYOB will be an advantage
  • Good team player with strong communication skills, dynamic and independent
  • Self-motivated to learn new concepts and participate in new projects
