About the Role

In this role you will help to define and manage the data migration approach from start to closure following the RWS Data Migration Strategy. You will proactively develop strong relations with the key business stakeholders, project team and data team to ensure financial data and applications are delivered on time to the highest levels of quality.  An essential part of this role will require you to have the ability to manage multiple resources (internal & external), coordinate and motivate others. The successful delivery of the projects is dependent on your ability to manage the smooth migration of financial data between RWS’s legacy systems and the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) system. As a natural leader you will be required in this position to lead at all stages of the test approach and test plans, ranging from the overall project plan to test and implementation plans.  You will have a proven track record of delivering results by aligning test plans to project objectives within a set time frame with clearly defined resources.  To be successful in this position you will have to be confident in delivering data migrations and data cleansing activities while managing the expectations and requirements of external and internal stakeholders.

 

Responsibilities

Data Migration

  • Act as the primary point of contact for data requirements, working with key stakeholders in finance to review and understand transactional data in legacy systems and offline spreadsheets
  • Ensure data requirements are in line with the overall business strategy, including single global customer and vendor lists
  • Review the legacy data to identify data quality issues where data may not be consistent with D365 requirements and coordinate with users to resolve data quality issues
  • Provide direction to SMEs, where required, for business activities i.e., data cleansing
  • Intensively test the data migration of all open transactions and balances for all legacy divisions as part of go-live readiness
  • Provide balancing reconciliations between legacy finance systems, manage and gatekeep setup of custom data fields
  • Quality assurance of data mapping, data gap analysis, data setup assumptions
  • Deliver a comprehensive data mapping instruction document and ensure that the knowledge transfer is maximised within the team and prepare data files for migration loads
  • Monitor, review and evaluate post implementation adoption to ensure data is migrated, set up and managed appropriately
  • Perform post load validations and detailed reconciliations for all migrated datasets, providing variance analysis
  • Maintain up to date data migration procedural documents

Master Data Leadership

  • Provide direction to teams handling Accounting, Customer, Supplier & Vendor Master Data, improve the team’s Master Data Management processes
  • Mentor and guide team members, sharing expertise and knowledge
  • Conduct performance reviews of team members and identify areas of development
  • Develop repeatable data quality audits, policies, and procedures to monitor data health
  • Validate data integrity during any data transformation and loading activities
  • Network and represent the Master Data team with senior levels across the organisation
  • Collaborate with Finance process owners, IT and Data & Analytics teams and with other stakeholders to provide required data points

 

 

Requirements

  • 5 years in a leadership/managerial role
  • Strong data literacy and knowledge of core finance systems, ERP, and integrations
  • Strong MS Excel skills with a proven aptitude to interpret financial data
  • High digital acumen and the ability to understand finance systems’ data handling, data structures and the impact on / integration with other systems
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to convey ideas, make recommendations and influence various stakeholder levels for approval through one-on-one conversations, formal presentations, and group discussions
  • Knowledge of leading practice data risk & controls procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to lead by example, hold teams, customers, and partners to account
  • Demonstrate logical thought process to simplify complex issues and technical concepts, and to facilitate issue resolution

Beneficial to have:

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics
  • Financial and accounting academic background
  • Professional experience in IT or Technology Consulting role
  • Experience in Finance process areas and proven ability to effectively navigate across Record to Report, Procure to Pay, and Order to Cash disciplines
