Job Summary As a key member of the CIO leadership team, this role advises and makes recommendations to the CIO on all financial aspects of the IT strategy and decision making around the investment portfolio. This role maintains controllership of CIO's financial and accounting activity globally for the central operations of Enterprise IT totaling $450M with the largest concentration of spend and headcount in the United States and India. In addition, this position will have accountability to collaborate with the businesses and corporate functions to drive assessment of strategic allocation of investments across IT. Job Responsibilities Partner with the SVP/CIO in developing IT goals, strategies, and performance measurements in support of Eaton’s overall corporate objectives. Serve as a financial advisor to the IT executive leadership team by seeking opportunities and improvements in the areas of process improvement, organizational development, and cost reduction Through active participation in supplier negotiations, provides financial analysis and recommendations on the selection of the most appropriate vendor agreements including lease / buy analysis as appropriate Drives both standard cost and benefits accountability for IT investments and reports back to businesses and corporate on progress Works with the CIO to understand IT activity across the company ensuring solution adoption and spend transparency. Subject matter expert in software accounting including the centralization of the preparation of software capital appropriation requests and leads the reviews for sound benefits realization with operations Manages team responsible for-profit plans, strategic plans, monthly forecasts, goals & objectives for CIO's enterprise budget totaling $450M in expense Consolidates worldwide IT financial information for review with senior IT leadership and sector management Partner with transfer pricing and government accounting teams to provide appropriate documentation and allocations across the enterprise This role will partner closely with business and functional leaders to impact and drive operational excellence in IT. Specifically: Driving standard practices, performance enhancement, and capital deployment across all our operational IT areas. Develop strong working relationships with operational leaders. Partner closely with Global Financial Shared Services team to optimize utilization of shared services. Drives clear budget/actual/forecast monthly performance for budgets across IT. Assist with managing our IT function like a business by deploying tools with clear results, measurement and strategy alignment. The creation of the process and execution of an enterprise-wide approach to IT portfolio/investment prioritization (zero-based budgeting). Qualifications Education level required Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration from an accredited institution. Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration preferred. Years and area of experience required Minimum 10 years of experience leading people. Minimum of 10 years of progressively complex accounting/finance or business analysis experience, including large business/group experience, US GAAP, international accounting standards Technical knowledge Skilled in general, managerial, cost, and corporate accounting practices understanding of statistical techniques and financial relationship Expertise in software accounting Knowledge on transferring pricing strategy Knowledge of process improvement techniques Ability to prioritize and multi-task to resolve issues High standard of customer service/support Understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley and other Eaton accounting policies and procedures Proficient in Microsoft Office Soft skills Demonstrated leadership skills Ability to observe, evaluate, summarize, and communicate highly complex issues and make decisions based on those observations Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in order to interact effectively and influence employees at all levels within the organization Ability to work with employees of diverse cultures Sense of urgency, drive for results, and a focus on accuracy, integrity, and ethical behavior Eaton considers qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with local laws.
