The Finance department provides both Financial Controlling and Accounting activities for a number of UK manufacturing sites within the BMW Group. Accounting activity covers all Statutory and BMW Group reporting obligations for the relevant legal entities with focus on applicable Accounting standard adherence, control frameworks, governance and relevant compliance. Core controlling activity has focus on the steering of the businesses manufacturing & investment costs towards financial target achievement.

By joining our dynamic team as a Finance Graduate for the BMW UK Production Triangle (Plants Oxford, Swindon and Hams Hall), you will have the opportunity to participate in a number of assignments across a variety of departments, both national and international. During your 24-month Programme, you’ll gain invaluable insight into business processes, strategy and operations of the BMW Group as well as a broad exposure to many areas of finance. We will provide support and study leave as you work towards a relevant post graduate professional qualification to enhance your technical accounting competence. What is my role?
• Effectively contribute as a member within the organisation’s Accounting & Controlling teams.
• Actively prepare, steer and report all relevant Financial Accounting output to Headquarter functions, fiscal authorities and business functions for all legal entities within scope, ensuring adherence to appropriate accounting standards, financial integrity, control and compliance.
• Actively participate within the Controlling function and wider business in all aspects of operational manufacturing controlling.
• Effectively coach the wider business in all relevant aspects of Accounting & Controlling with a focus on financial integrity, internal controls mind-set and cost clever solutions respectively.
• Assessment of current processes and recommendations for improvement within relevant legislative frameworks.
• Enhance current data analysis through the use of Big Data Analytics / Business Intelligence Tools.
• Strong focus on reporting deadlines and flexible working to achieve targets.

Essential Skills
• Accounting & Finance degree achieved with a 2:1 or higher.
• Plan to gain a relevant post graduate professional qualification.
• Minimum 6 months of relevant practical experience (e.g. internship, training, initial professional experience, voluntary work).
• Intermediate or Advanced Level Microsoft Office skills (in particular Microsoft Excel).
• High level of business acumen.
• Excellent command of English (German is an advantage).
• A valid UK driving licence, is a must.


Desirable Skills
• Experience of accounting under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Good knowledge of system architectures SAP R3 or comparable accounting systems.
• Experience of using Big Data Analytics / Business Intelligence Tools.
