Job Description

As a Finance Manager, you are responsible for driving insights and accountability across the functional organizations for one of our key business units. You will take ownership of finance team deliverables to drive the business review cycle with senior division leadership. You will build close partnerships with key functional leaders across the organization in business areas such as Operations, Product Management, and Commercial, to drive strong management, discipline, and facilitate the long-term success of the company. Through these efforts, you will work with thought leaders in the life sciences field and contribute to developing products and solutions to the most pressing challenges facing the scientific community worldwide.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Be recognized as key decision-making Finance partner in evaluating and approving:
    • Strategic business opportunities
    • New product development business cases
    • Pricing strategies and product positioning
    • Headcount and other investment proposals
  • Provide thought leadership in enhancing the use of Business Intelligence, including RPI, AI and Data Science, for the Finance teams. Suggest better metrics to measure, explain and forecast operating performance
  • Drive improvements in reporting, forecasting and accountability processes for Gross Margin (Price, Volume Mix, Net Productivity), AR and Inventory
  • Develop insights, financial reporting, and forecasts of Revenue, Gross Margin, Operating Earnings, and Inventory in partnership with Commercial, Product Management or Operations teams
  • Work with functional leadership teams to improve business performance, discipline and insight. Examples include but not limited to: Identification and follow through on opportunities for market share gain or for margin expansion through a more profitable product sales mix or operations productivity.

  • Academic rigour in analysing data and desire to drive technological change in financial reporting
  • Track record of developing high levels of credibility and forging solid and positive professional relationships with subordinates, peers and upper management while operating effectively in a matrix reporting structure
  • Strong understanding of the interdependencies of the customer fulfilment, inventory, and manufacturing volumes
  • Possess strong leadership and team building skills
  • Exceptional analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Self-motivated with high bias for action and accountability

Job Requirements:

  • MBA in Business, Finance, or Accounting with excellent academic credentials and a strong aptitude in financial analysis
  • Strong knowledge of Excel (i.e., financial models and analysis), Cognos reporting tool (or equivalent), PowerPoint, and Hyperion is preferred
