Job Description

This position administers, organizes and supervises all financial and accounting activities in the country to ensure accuracy and timeliness of transactions and reports, and their conformity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and financial policies and procedures. Responsible for delivering sales & margin objectives for the country and providing business support to the Country General Manager and commercial leadership team. A key member of the country leadership who is responsible for directing, guiding, and influencing the commercial organization to achieve the business outcomes.

Key Areas of Accountability:

1. Prepare and submit a detailed Financial Plan/Update package, latest best estimate (LBE) forecasts and other financial reports required by the Region/Area HQ.  Ensure that business and financial risks were considered during the planning phase and communicate these effectively to country & regional leadership.

2. Drive profitability of the business working with commercial leadership to provide recommendations which improve the profitability of the business and individual contracts. This includes driving Gross Margin improvement (GMI) activities within the country from idea generation through to completion. 

3. Monitor & control capital expenditures and SSG&A ensuring expenses will be incurred within the approved Plan/Update/LBE level.

4. Act as a direct contact with the company’s external and internal auditors on all financial matters including policies and procedures and coordinate all matters with the host division.

5. Establish internal control systems to ensure that financial policies/procedures (both local and international) are adhered to.

6. Maintain close coordination with CFS (Corporate Finance Services) to ensure timely collection and achievement of DSO.  Also handles review of expenses posted by CFS and conducts monthly/quarterly review of balance sheet accounts.

7. Prepares sales targets in coordination with country sales leadership, to ensure balanced performance across the team & that overall country targets are achieved.

8. Implement the annual incentive program, calculating quarterly/annual pay out for sales, TSS and TAS team with reference to the Global Incentive Program of Core Diagnostics.

9. Review financial policies and procedures and identify needs for improvement.  Implement new systems and controls to support the growing needs of the business and ensure that any changes are communicated for effective implementation. 

10. Ensure compliance with the guidelines set by the OEC. Ensure compliance with FCPA and conflict of interest policies.

Job Specification

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years experience in accounting and/or financial management, planning, reporting and control
  • Professional Accounting qualification.
  • Fluent in financial and business communications and can effectively express self and ideas.
  • Experience as a country finance lead is preferred

Minimum Qualification:

Undergraduate Accounting Degree.  Preferably a Certified Public Accountant.
