Accountability 1: Lead Financial Accounting function in Greater China, including China, Hong Kong and Taiwan
- Prioritise, delegate & supervise daily works of Finance Accounting team and external service providers (KPMG and TMF/KCS) to ensure a fair distribution of workload; mentor and motivate team members on daily issues;
- Resolve departmental day to day issues with clients, colleagues and 3rd parties;
- Ensure a smooth and effective communication channel within and outside the department;
Accountability 2: Manage routine finance operations, ensure the compliance to policies and standard procedures;
- Safeguard company assets;
- Ensure the high level compliance standards are met, by company standard policies and operating procedures;
- Manage month end closing process, ensure the compliance and effectiveness of the process;
- Manage monthly Balance Sheet Review process, ensure the clean B/S on timely matter and resolve outstanding issues;
- Manage Cash Flow forecast in the region, ensure the liquidity of the operations; manage payment terms and collection terms on a reasonable level;
Accountability 3: Seek opportunities to system improvement to reduce manual intervention;
- Keep business insight on identifying the today’s pain points, address the issue, seek solutions, get stakeholders’ support, implement and review;
- Use metric to track compliance status, identify gaps and highlight for improvement;
- Use Oracle and other tools to provide business information to related parties;
Accountability 4: Act as advocator to promote the awareness of related Finance policies to non-Finance staff;
- Provide Finance training to non-Finance people, including daily operations (payment, collection, reimbursement), tax regulation, invoice management, etc.
- Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Clinical, Finance and other respective functions, understand the needs and provide constructive proposal to address business requirement;
- Ensure the compliance to local regulations on daily operations, provide insight or alert to other functions for regulation changes to mitigate risk of business;
Accountability 5: Develop Self and Team Members
- Continual development of self to be aligned with One Cochlear goals;
- Use My Performance Pathway as a key tool for self-development and manage the performance of staff;
- Create opportunities to staff, support them to deliver business goals as well as to manage the outcome on expectation;
Accountability 6: Ensure the external statutory requirement fulfilment, e.g. tax, corporate secretary.
- Keep close connection with KPMG and local tax advisor to ensure proper tax planning is in place to ensure the maximum interest to the company;
- Ensure the monthly/quarterly/yearly tax filings are accurate and on time;
- Keep smooth communication with Corporate Tax team to ensure any major items are captured on group level, e.g. Transfer Pricing;
Minimum:
10+ years working experience in Finance, MNC experience is mandatory;
CPA in China or equivalent, for example, ACCA, CIMA, CGA, CA;
Excellent Microsoft skills, in particular excel;
Oracle or SAP related hands on experience;
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Strong organisational skills and ability to react to suit finance requirements, must be able to organise time effectively and prioritise tasks to cope with fluctuating workloads;
Supervisory experience;
High level of accuracy in checking & processing information;
Ability to form good relationships with colleagues, clients and external service providers;
Able to work on own initiative, make effective decisions and as also work as part of a team;
A positive flexible attitude;
