Position Summary:
Reporting to the International Finance Director, this role will be responsible for overseeing the application of Company accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS. The role will directly oversee the statutory and group accounting and financial reporting aspects in ANZ and South East Asia (6 reporting entities).
This is a high-profile position which will have significant interaction across the Bentley organization such as, the Corporate Finance Team in Exton, Pennsylvania, regional finance and business leads and executive management. The nature of this role will require developing a deep understanding of Bentley’s business and various commercial models.
The successful candidate is an ambitious leader and team player alike, has a solid technical accounting background in US GAAP and IFRS, is experienced with control requirements of publicly traded companies, brings strong interpersonal and communication skills and will enjoy working in the multicultural environment of a global tech leader.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Lead a team of finance professionals located in the Australia, Malaysia, Singapore and Pakistan.
- Oversee the group and statutory financial reporting closing process for Bentley’s entities in the ANZ and SEA region and ensure compliance with group (US GAAP and IFRS) and statutory accounting policies, as applicable.
- Perform/oversee monthly financial and accounting analysis.
- Partner with the Intercompany Controller in Exton on the accurate accounting of intercompany contracts.
- Oversee statutory and other filing compliance aspects within the assigned region.
- Manage/oversee statutory and group audit aspects for ANZ and SEA; assist with tax audits and liaise with external auditors to evaluate new arrangements and technical accounting issues.
- Partner with Tax, Legal and Treasury on cash distribution opportunities.
- Participation in bi-weekly global finance meetings and leading role in quarterly international finance meeting.
- Assisting with process improvement and automation projects.
What You Bring to The Team:
- University or higher education degree in business accounting or Economy.
- Chartered Accountant is a plus.
- Thorough understanding of international accounting and reporting requirements (IFRS and US GAAP).
- Thorough understanding of financial control requirements, such as SOX 404 requirements in the US.
- A minimum of 6 years-experience in accounting, reporting or audit; preferably gained in one of the Big-4 auditing firms.
- Experience in leading teams in a multicultural environment.
- Can-do, role-up-your-sleeves attitude.
- Change agent who consistently challenges the status quo and drives improvements to processes, controls and systems.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills; fluent in English, written and verbal.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Software technology industry preferred, but not required
- SAP knowledge preferred, but not required
