China Finance – Senior Manager

The Senior Manager role is responsible for leading Amgen’s finance activities at the R&D Center in China. The incumbent will be the finance business partner to the legal responsible of the R&D Center and for all finance aspects. The role will closely work with the global finance R&D organization and is supported by the China commercial finance organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for budget and forecast for China R&D center
• Responsible for the timely and accurate statutory financial reporting
• Reviewing and approving tax filing (CIT, VAT, sur-tax and IIT)
• Reviewing and approving the monthly payroll for the organization together with HR
• Responsible for the T&E and payment process for the R&D Center 
• Managing external service providers and collaborating with finance teams in global headquarters and commercial finance team in China
• External & Internal audit coordination and responsible for internal control process
• Acting as finance business partner to lead of R&D Center
• Working with key business and functional leaders as finance business partner

The qualified candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of finance experience with significant expertise in the China statutory accounting, taxation, payments and compliance area. Work experience from a big four accounting firm and a major in accounting plus CPA are important. Having been working in the pharma/ biotechnology industry in a multinational corporation plus overseas experience are certainly add-ons for a strong candidate. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are essential.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a strong teamwork focus and strong English skills are important success factors. 

Education:

• An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is required
• A Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is also required

Professional Experience/Qualifications:

Experience and qualifications should include:

• At least 10 years of experience in finance, along with at least five or more years at a big four accounting firm or at a multinational corporation
• Solid working knowledge and MNC experience
• Good understanding of accounting, tax, compliance and payments processes
• Experience with a U.S. multinational corporation is preferred
• Experience with the pharmaceutical, biotech or high-tech industry is preferred
• Ability to speak proficient English is important
