What you will do

In this vital role you will manage Amgen’s Gross to Net process and will partner cross-functionally across Finance, Coverage & Pricing, and Accounting to play a critical role in developing, understanding, monitoring, and communicating the financial impact of changes in revenue and discount rate forecasts across our US product portfolio.

• Leading the US Business Unit Gross to Net cross-functional process, and serving as the subject matter expert for the process.
• Driving end-to-end quarterly activities and deliverables, ensuring adherence to timelines to support month-end closing and quarterly forecasts and compiling and analyzing gross-to-net sales adjustments for Amgen's US product portfolio.
• Analyzing, consolidating and communicating impact of Gross to Net outputs and variances to Finance stakeholders.
• Responsible for the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls surrounding the Gross to Net process. Providing certification of operating effectiveness of SOX controls by ensuring proper documentation of the control evidence by cross-functional control owners.
• Approving periodic journal entries and true-ups stemming from and associated with Gross to Net and Wholesaler Discount Arrangement estimates.
• Supporting ad-hoc analyses related to US product sales gross-to-net forecast and actuals.
• Facilitating corroboration with internal and external auditors for the Gross to Net process.
• Preparing various management reports on financial performance, highlighting key variance drivers and insights.
• Preparing/Presenting financial analysis materials for senior company leadership.
• Partnering with key initiative leads to further enhance the end to end Gross to Net process.

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Finance experience

OR

Master’s degree and 4 years of Finance experience

OR

Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of Finance experience

OR

Associate’s degree and 10 years of Finance experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA (Certified Public Accountant)
• 10+ years of corporate level experience
• Relevant functional financial planning experience in other operational area
• Knowledge of key finance systems (such as SAP, MS Office, Anaplan, TM1/COGNOS planning and BI applications) and strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint
• Detail oriented; strong business analytical skills
• Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to influence personnel across functions and levels
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations and team environment
• Able to take the initiative and work under a minimum of direction
