Finance Supervisor - Purchasing and Global Supply Chain

Our locations in Abbott Park, IL, or Columbus, OH currently has an opportunity for a Finance Supervisor. 

This role provides critical financial support for the Abbott Nutrition material spend of ~$2 billion, which is very volatile.  This person works closely with AN’s Commodity Risk Management team and the One Procurement organization to understand commodity price movements and impact on AN financial performance.  Responsible for Financial Planning, Reporting and Analysis for Abbott Nutrition Purchase Price Variance (PPV).  Assists with setting annual purchasing material standards. The role requires strong system skills (essbase, Symphony, HFM, and COGNOS preferred).

WHAT YOU’LL DO  

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:

Provide primary financial support for the Abbott Nutrition Purchasing Organization.  Responsible for Financial Planning, Reporting and Analysis for Abbott Nutrition Purchase Price Variance (PPV).  Consolidates and publishes financial information related to historical, current and future performance.  Assists with setting purchasing material standards.  Works closely with Purchasing to understand commodity price movements and impact on AN financial performance.  Performs financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques. 

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work with Purchasing to proactively identify trends in commodity pricing that could impact PPV or standard costs.  Analyze variances and provide comments on current and future pricing implications.

• Support annual plan and LBE forecasts to capture the financial impact of Purchase Price Variance.

• Coordinate activities related to PPV actuals for International Purchase Price Variance.

• Analyze monthly consolidation of purchase price information to provide a financial summary to management.

• Develop strong working relationships with Risk Management, Purchasing, International Plants, and Global ANSC Finance team.    

• Drives the month end close process for US PPV and provide relevant reporting information. Implements process improvements to streamline month end close and forecasting activities.

• Utilizes and develops strong financial processes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE, YOU’LL BRING  

Required  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. 

• MBA and/or CPA preferred, but not necessary, based on experience.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Basic Qualifications: 

• Strong analytical and communication skill

• Strategic and innovative thinker that will challenge status quo and become a strong business partner with the Purchasing, HUB and Global Supply organizations.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications

• 5+ years of progressive financial experience

• Experience with financial management and accounting systems: Essbase, SAP, Hyperion
