The Siemens Government Technologies Internship Program enables college students to explore stimulating career possibilities in the government contracting environment. As an intern of Siemens Government Technologies, you will be given individual and group assignments that are designed to provide you with experience in a corporate environment and develop your business acumen.
Objective – As a finance/projecting controlling intern, the main objective will be supporting the day-to-day activities of the project controlling team. This will include monthly reporting activities, updating the estimate at completion for projects, forecasting for projects and looking for efficiencies in all tasks.
Responsibilities:
Specific tasks are as follows:
- Creation and Updating of monthly project Estimate at Completions (EAC)
- Journal Entry/Accruals During Month End Close for project settlement
- Project Forecasting Support
- Analysis of Key Financial Metrics
- Development of Tracking and Reporting Tools
- Attends Monthly Business Review and Balance Sheet Meetings, Tracking Tasks
- Invoice Validation and Coding
- Preparing Monthly Charts and Slides for Business Review and BoD meetings
- Ad-hoc Reporting and Analysis Requests
Requirements:
- Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred
- Rising Junior or above
- Propensity to be self-motivated/self-guided (manager will be remote from Reston office)
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others on projects and assignments to achieve optimal results
- Ability to quickly learn the SGT business and understand the value proposition to SGT
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Creativity in problem solving and alternative solutions
- Proven ability to present information in both 1 on 1 and large group settings
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and schedules
- This position will be remote
- Candidate must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
Preferred:
- Working to obtain Finance or other analytical degree
- Experience working with financial results
