JOB PURPOSE

  • To manage the Record to Report (RTR) team of Burberry APAC

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for delivery of Record to Report (RTR) regional process ownership.
  • Manage Inventory manager for the delivery of Inventory accounting in accordance to Group Finance policy and IFRS.
  • Manage lease accounting manager and ensure the lease accounting are in accordance to the Group accounting policy & new IFRS 16 accounting standard and
  • Manages RTR managers for the service delivery of statutory and record to report tax reporting and schedules to be provided to services providers in CPA firm for tax compliance area.
  • Ensures fixed assets and General ledger accounting transactions was prepared and reviewed per Group accounting policies. Balances and reports are appropriately prepared and reviewed for validity, accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensures compliance with Group Accounting Policies, including design and operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Responsible for ensuring regulatory submissions are completed accurately and in accordance with legal deadlines.
  • Manages internal stakeholders (FP&A Finance, Group Finance and Business) and accompanying change management programmes to ensure that successful service delivery is ongoing.
  • Contributes to and makes authoritative recommendations on how the RTR operations across Burberry Group will be structured represent process procedures, practicalities and exceptions and what services will be delivered and make continuous improvement.
  • Oversees the project’s implementation for new RTR initiatives.
  • Escalation point for customer complaints, service failures or adherence issues in RTR.

ASIA PACIFIC in SCOPE SERVICES


  • Inventory accounting and stocktake processes, lease accounting, fixed asset accounting, general ledger accounting processes, statutory reporting, tax reporting and compliance reporting, intercompany accounting processes.
  • Managing the auditor and tax relationship in the region as required.
  • Co-ordinating all control activities under minimum acceptable control certifications and Balance sheet reconciliation activities.
  • Countries in scope – Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, China, Singapore. Malaysia, Thailand, Australia Japan, Korea.

PERSONAL PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is preferred, MBA is a plus.
  • Professional accounting qualification e.g. ACA, CA, ACCA, or CPA with significant post qualification experience.
  • Strong accounting and leadership experience with 10 years working + in Accounting and Shared Services environment in Record to Report area in multinational company.
  • SAP working experience, knowledge and Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC) tool for Record to Report is essential.
  • Strong technical background with experience in a FTSE company applying IFRS is required.
  • Proven experience in managing RTR teams, including history of hiring, training, motivating and retaining personnel
  • Experience of leading multi-work stream and change management projects preferred.
