About the Venture

We are excited to launch a new stealth venture - a thriving community and marketplace where industries, technologies and professional services come together to innovate in new ways. This venture helps organisations leverage the proven solutions of others to solve their own business problems, reducing duplicate effort and inspiring new approaches to innovation. 

Our platform hosts a variety of proprietary solutions and curated content from leading industry players, startups, vendors and universities. We aim to inspire and foster collaboration between a community of innovators both online through our platform, and offline through events and relationships.

This venture is being built by BCG Digital Ventures (“BCGDV”) and is backed by leading industrial players across the world. The business is due to launch in early 2020, and will be based in London, UK with some international travel. 

What will the role involve?

This role will report directly to the CEO and will provide the opportunity and challenge to help create and shape the Finance function from scratch.  

As a Financial Controller you will

• Help establish the Finance function, from financial reporting, internal systems and controls to the provision of management information, compliance and responsibility for budgeting, and overseeing book-keeping and audit
• Own the financial and operational KPIs of the company, including forecast and cash-flow, financial modelling and forecasting P&L 
• Build reporting and board meeting decks, providing regular updates to the CEO, Board and Investors 
• Work closely with the CEO and Leadership Team to develop the financial strategy of our venture

Desired Expertise & Experience

• Previous experience as a Financial Controller within a start-up/high growth environment
• Extensive experience with commercial and financial analysis, accounting, information systems, internal financial controls, revenue recognition and financial modelling
• The ability to manage relationships at a Senior level, whilst being very ‘hands on’ in the early stages of the venture
• In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
• Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software experience with statistics, data analysis, and heavy-duty Excel
• An analytical mind, coupled with strong intellectual curiosity
• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA/CPA or equivalent) with BSc/BA in Accounting, Finance or relevant field; MSc/MBA is a plus
