Responsible for the (1) detailed review and/or evaluation of financial impact (cost and benefits) outlined in the business case of projects and/or initiatives of the Company, review and tracking of actual cost incurred and forecasted future spend of approved business cases; (2) review and tracking of actual benefits versus committed benefits of completed projects and any plan of the Project Owner to go back on track should the actual benefits fall short of the committed level; and (3) consolidation and and preparation of financial reports relevant to various projects’ budget, actual spend and forecasted spend for reporting to Senior Management.• Assists GOE Governance Manager in evaluating project’s Business Case, ensuring that the minimum critical requirements for a business case focusing on financial sections are duly addressed for all projects under review;
• Performs detailed review of business case including validation of appropriate treatment of cost and supporting assumptions;
• Endorses reviewed Business Cases to GOE Governance Manager, duly supported by detailed budget line items and project summary highlighting key items on financial sections necessary for management decision and close out of Project Evaluation and GOE Governance Manager review comments within set timelines;
• Partners with the Project Governance Office (PGO), Project Sponsor and Project Manager to get an in-depth understanding of proposed projects in relation to review of financials, payback, confirmation of funding vs final Strategic Plan budget. Regularly communicates with the Project Team to ensure timely resolution of outstanding items for close out, if any;
• Delivers accurate and complete consolidated list of projects with cash flow projection and financial impact for Strategic Plan budget and forecasting purposes;
• Prepares monthly actual spend analysis vs project budget and partner with project managers in updating forecast of project spend;
• Closely coordinates with project teams to ensure accurate and efficient tracking of actual spends (including unbilled but incurred costs) vs approved levels and forecast of remaining budget spend, and actual realization of benefits committed;
• Timely monitors actual spend and remaining forecasted spend vs. approved levels of various projects and supports Head of Financial Reporting and Controllership and/or Head of Project Evaluation in the approval of ARIBA PR/PO requests;
• Coordinate with Group Office Accounting Policy (through local representative) for any clarification needed on the treatment of Projects financials (i.e. capitalization criteria, depreciable period allowed for certain Projects, etc.); and
• Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by Project Evaluation and Financial Reporting Manager in order to meet operational and/or other requirements.
Minimum Job Requirements
• Education – Graduate of BS Accountancy
• Experience – With minimum of 5 year working experience, with at least 4 years exposure in big 4 audit/accounting firm, business analytics, process reviews (preferably in audit / finance or life insurance operations)
• Certifications/licenses – preferably a CPA
• Special skills – Facilitation skills, advanced knowledge of MS Power Point and MS Excel to generate statistical management information and financial reports. Must be highly analytical with attention to details. Plus points if well-versed in power BI software.
