Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Financial Planning Specialist to join our team. This position can be based at any of the following locations; Beachwood OH, Galesburg MI, Arden NC, Highland IL, Tualatin OR, Fort Worth TX, Charlotte NC, Irvine CA, Moon TWP PA, or Syracuse NY. Flexible, hybrid work schedule is available from one of these locations. Position Overview: This position is responsible for the management, dissemination, and data integrity of key financial information. Key responsibilities are providing Senior Management with the first look at the financial state of the company and preparing reports for Senior Management that provide a detailed analysis and understanding of business results of the corporation measured against Plan, previous forecast, and prior year. This position is relied upon by the organization for insights into key financial metrics and works across functions to develop and deliver timely and accurate financial information. In this function you will: Manage the ENCORE monthly financial reporting process in order to provide high quality, timely, and flawlessly accurate information to the Chairman and CEO, CFO, VP and Controller, COOs and other senior leaders. Prepare, verify, and analyze for reasonableness monthly reports such as the sales and profit flash report, sales and profit bridges, restructuring analysis, and financial highlights by segment. Produce accurate and sensitive financial data in very short turnaround time conditions to achieve reporting requirements of Senior Management and deliver on or before stated deadlines. These reports contain the first look for Senior Management at the financial state of the company and measure progress against Plan, previous forecast, and prior year. Establish and maintain collaborative and highly effective working partnerships with the Electrical and Industrial Sector Finance teams in order to ensure that business results (including comparisons between actuals, forecast, Profit Plan and/or prior year) and associated issues are understood and can be accurately communicated to Senior Management during monthly Actuals and Forecast meetings. This communication ensures that Senior Management has a detailed analysis and understanding of financial state of the corporation and can measure progress against Plan, previous forecast, and prior year. Produce presentations to be used by the VP and Controller and/or CFO in meetings with the Board of Directors (BOD) and the Senior Leadership Council (SLC) on a quarterly basis. In months without such meetings prepare a presentation to be provided to the BOD and SLC to provide them with a financial update on the status of the company and its progress against Plan, previous forecast, and prior year. Prepare high quality, timely and flawlessly accurate quarter-end analyses that support and facilitate the external earnings release such as a quarter-end deliverables timeline, financial reference information for the CFO during the external earnings release webcast, and analysis of organic growth compared to certain peers Assist the V.P. of Technical Accounting and his team on a quarterly basis with the Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) for the 10-Q/10-K as it relates to segment operating performance by leveraging the analysis of business results and associated issues obtained on a monthly basis through the collaboration noted with the Sector Finance teams. Also provide Technical Accounting with quarterly confirmation related to certain revenue disclosures that are provided by the Sector Finance teams. Once the sectors have presented their Profit Plans to the CEO and CFO, track any changes made and provide proforma analyses to CFO on an as needed basis. Review the Board of Director Profit Plan presentations prepared by the Sector Finance teams for financial accuracy and consistency. Produce accurate ad-hoc data and / or analysis in very short turnaround time conditions to immediate Manager, Director of Reporting & Analysis, and Executive Management. Support the Reporting & Analysis Department in achievement of goals via participation in special projects, training, or data issues as assigned by the Manager of Reporting & Analysis. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with major in Finance, Accounting or related business degree Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in finance/accounting, previous manufacturing industry experience a plus Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Only candidates currently located within a 50 mile radius of Beachwood, OH; Galesburg, MI; Arden, NC; Highland, IL; Tualatin, OR; Fort Worth, TX; Charlotte, NC; Irvine, CA; Moon Twp, PA; Syracuse, NY will be considered. Preferred qualifications: Deep Finance / accounting background Previous experience in the manufacturing industry and/or at a publicly traded company Ability to understand and communicate the drivers of various financial metrics Hands-on knowledge of financial statements, including balance sheet, income and cash flow statements Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in written and verbal form Proven ability to effectively manage people, information, and resources effectively in order to meet deadlines and respond to requests in a timely manner Technically proficient in Longview Solutions and Microsoft Office applications Position Criteria: In depth knowledge of Eaton’s corporate structure, segments, accounting and financial policies, corporate calculations, and financial performance metrics. Excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to work with all levels, functions, and personalities within the organization, including Executive Management and Sector Finance. Excellent analytical skills to determine “root-cause” issues and to develop and recommend best possible resolution. Able to prioritize multiple requests and / or issues and multi-task to resolve the issues while meeting all stated deadlines within very short turnaround time conditions. Manage workload with a sense of urgency, personal ownership, very high standards of customer support, and a constant focus on system data integrity, and flawless product quality. Creativity, vision, and strategic thinking to help solve business challenges are essential. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively across a global organization, with the ability to adjust communication style to regional norms.
