Responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of relevant, accurate and quality financial reports/data focusing on the Company’s GOE (General Operating Expenses) with quality analysis to address the requirements of various stakeholders for Philam Group.

  • Ensures the achievement of Monthly and Quarterly IFRS FS close deadlines of General Operating Expenses (GOE) for Philam Group though timely and accurate take-up of various transactions such as payroll, GOE accruals and other GOE related adjustment.
  • Monitors actual GOE performance of Philam Group against the Strategic Planning budget and/or latest forecast and prepares reliable and accurate financial reports and information with quality analysis for Local Management and Group Office reporting.
  • Partners with various stakeholders within Philam Group to identify and understand nature and reasonableness of budgetary/spend items to support Management in ensuring resources are optimized in line with the Company’s strategy during the annual enterprise wide Strategic Planning exercise and monthly forecasting activities.
  • Consolidates budget inputs during the annual planning exercise and monthly forecasting activities and assists the GOE Governance Manager in providing analysis (i.e. trend analysis, etc.)  identifying key highlight, risks and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Ensures timely submission and reliability of reports for AIA monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and Statutory year-end audit requirements (i.e. GOE Monthly Management Report, IFRS template to be submitted to Group Office, Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Cost center and Hierarchy mapping maintenance, Pension valuation reports, etc.)
  • Coordinates with Group Office Accounting Policy (through local representative) for any clarification needed on the treatment of any new accounting standards with impact on the take-up of Company’s expenses.
  • Can identify gaps in the key processes of the team,  recommend improvements to address the noted pain points and lead the implementation and continuous tracking of results to further refine the process
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by GOE Governance Manager and Head of Controls and Governance in order to meet operational and/or other requirements
