This position is responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of relevant, accurate and quality financial reporting/ data with quality analysis to address the requirements of various stakeholders for both PAL and BPLAC.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Monitors monthly and quarterly financial performance; Analyzes financial and operating results in comparison to budget/ plan, latest forecast and prior period to better understand company performance
  • Performs monthly forecasting and analysis for PAL, BPLAC and Consolidated for Operating Profit After Tax (OPAT) and Total Weighted Premium Income (TWPI); Coordinates with relevant teams (such as Actuarial, Operations, Marketing, Investments, and Agency teams) to develop OPAT and TWPI forecasts
  • Supports key strategic initiatives in managing and growing OPAT and TWPI
  • Supports the financial planning and budget process of PAL, BPLAC, and subsidiaries, in close coordination with Profit Center/ Distribution Channel Heads, Actuarial, Investments, Office Heads and Affiliates
  • Manage use, implementation and development of online reporting analytical tools to deliver meaningful insights into business performance
  • Review existing processes and procedures to develop recommendations for improvement efforts
  • Evaluate previous budgets/ forecasts to develop and implement future budgets/ forecasts
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/ or other requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Education Must possess Bachelor of Science in Accountancy degree
  • Experience At least seven(7) years audit experience with any of the big 4 audit firms (Navarro Amper & Co., Isla Lipana & Co., Sycip Gorres Velayo & Co. and Manabat SanAgustin & Co); or experience in financial reporting/budgeting/financial analysis with any of the top 10 life insurance companies in the Philippines
  • Certifications/licenses Certified Public Accountant
  • Special skills Significant analytical skillset, has knowledge and experience in IFRS/ PFRS; proficient in MS Office applications; has advanced knowledge in SAP, Business Intelligence, with good command in English (both oral and written)
