Financial Reporting Manager
Location: Exton, PA
Hiring Manager: Senior Director, Technical Accounting, Revenue, and Reporting
Position Summary:
The Financial Reporting Manager will lead the preparation and distribution of Bentley’s external financial statements ensuring that the preparation of such is conducted through a well-controlled process and is in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting rules. If and when Bentley continues its Initial Public Offering (IPO) pursuit, the Financial Reporting Manager will be a key contributor for all SEC reporting and filings, such as Form S-1, 10-K, 10-Qs and 8-Ks. In preparation of such IPO pursuit, the Company currently compiles it financial reports in compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC accounting and reporting rules. This position is highly visible to senior management, reports to the Senior Director, Technical Accounting, Revenue, and Reporting and is based in our global headquarters in Exton, PA.
Your Day-to-Day:
- Oversee the timely preparation and filing of all external quarterly and annual financial filings in compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting rules, through Workiva (Wdesk online reporting).
- In the event Bentley pursues an initial public offering, oversee the timely preparation and filing of all quarterly, annual and other periodic SEC filings (10-Qs, 1O Ks, 8-Ks, Proxy Statements, and of course initially, our S-1), including financial statements, footnotes, MD&A and all supporting documentation.
- Maintain adequate tie-out and footnote support.
- Manage the internal and external review for these documents.
- Create and maintain a reporting calendar to inform parties of necessary deadline adherence for the following processes: financial close, Board of Directors package and quarterly/annual reporting.
- Monitor and ensure timely identification and compliance with evolving accounting guidance, provide U.S. GAAP interpretation and prepare technical memorandums that document issues in a clear, logical and comprehensive manner.
- Communicate and explain accounting issues and evolving accounting guidance to the management team.
- Prepare the Company’s stock compensation related calculations and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and Bentley accounting policies.
- Support M&A activity including due diligence and preparation of purchase accounting.
- Maintain and enhance reporting procedures to comply with internal control requirements.
- Perform continuous assessment of the close process and process re-engineering to reduce the timing to close the financial period.
- Support month and year end close process.
- Coordinate audit requests with external auditors.
- Participate in ad hoc projects as requested.
What You Bring to The Team:
- B.S. Accounting or Finance
- CPA, CA or MBA preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting or finance experience.
- Big 4 and/or public company experience a plus.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Detailed level understanding of U.S GAAP accounting and SEC reporting standards.
- SAP ERP and Workiva Wdesk knowledge and experience a plus.
- Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
- Highly productive and dependable team player
- Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Commitment to process improvement and the ability to think “out of the box”
