Position Objective
Financial Risk Manager is responsible for 2nd line of defense oversight and reporting of financial risk. The manager performs extensive risk modeling, analyses, and reporting across interest rate, equity, credit, and insurance risks. The manager also takes lead in readiness preparation for the execution of economic risk capital frameworks in the future.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Implementation of Group Risk Policies

  • Embedding risk policies & standards in financial risk area
  • Proactively providing oversight of aggregated risk profile monitoring through review and challenge of key risk, risk exposure against risk appetite, trends & the identification of material changes in risk profile & emerging risk
  • Prepare and present Financial risk matters to Financial Risk Committee (FRC), Assets & Liability Management Committee (ALCO) and facilitate risk discussions in risk committees
  • Oversee action plan for breach of risk appetite or policies/ standards

Financial Risk Management

  • Provide second line oversight across Interest Rate Risk, Equity Risk, Credit Default Risk.
  • Conduct stress test for Capital, Liquidity and OPAT.
  • Provide input into the decision-making process for the design and implementation of strategies and to mitigate the risks outlined above, i.e. Sensitivity; Stress and Scenario planning and implementation of appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide input to the design of the risk limit framework to ensure it is suitable to measure and monitor all large exposures related to the key risk areas.
  • Review annual Strategic Asset Allocation; Prepare and Attend ALCO meeting.
  • Develop and monitor key risk indicator. Conduct reverse stress test for critical risk drives to assess the risk level.
  • Ensure that actions raised by Management to address significant risk exposures are appropriately implemented.

Actuarial Process Oversight

  • Perform risk review to key actuarial process (Statutory reserve, IFRS reserve, Embedded value,…) and recommendation for process  improvement.
  • Monitor and review compliance with relevant regulation relating to actuary.

Financial Risk Transformation

  • Increasing productivity & efficiency by embedding the use of data analytics for risk thematic reviews and monitoring of key risk at company level.

Job Requirements:

  • EducationUniversity graduate in a quantitative discipline such as math, econometrics, statistics etc... In-progress for qualification with any recognized Actuarial Professional organization is advantageous
  • Experience7+ years of risk management experience with specific background in actuary, interest, equity or credit risk analytics
  • Working and programming knowledge of software such as MatLab, Python or R
  • Exposure to SQL Database programming and design
  • Team-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Strong communication, partnering skills, interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Ability to organize complex processes, handle multiple tasks, and deal with shifting priorities, all within demanding time schedules
  • Ability to “think outside of the box”
