Firmware Project Design leader

Description:

This position is reporting to the Offer Development Manager and is responsible for the supervision of firmware design engineers and liaison with relevant parties is responsible for the planning, coordination, timely development of firmware, maintenance of design document with relevant parties (internal and external) in order to successfully maintain existing and create new solutions to industry leading standards.

This role also involves maintaining existing designs, products evolution and supporting technical queries from product management, internal, external customers and suppliers.

This is an important role within the engineering function, with specific responsibility for the design and development of new products and the support of existing products. Moreover, it is the first level to lead small group of firmware engineer(s) to develop products.

This position is generally autonomous and requires effective communication within the team, with other teams from within the R&D function and more broadly with various departments within the local entity.

Qualifications:

Essential

• Degree in Engineering, software engineer or similar

Desirable

• Master degree or above in Computer Science/EE or
  related major

• Basic knowledge of leadership, for example, delegation,
  coaching

Job Related Experience:

Essential:

• 8+ years firmware/software hands on coding experience

• Solid experience in Agile development, JIRA &
  similar development tools and facilitating Scrum Master

• Knowledge of general digital communication protocols
  (ie. TCP/IP, RS485, SPI, I2C,...)

• Solid experience in debugging by using oscilloscope or
  similar equipment

• Solid experience in development of Zigbee, IP, BLE,
  WiFi & so on

• Understanding of cyber security

Desirable:

• Understanding the development of Android Apps

• Understanding of coding of KNX, DALI, C-bus

• Experience with development products following PMP concept
  & design review process

• Willing and able to lead small team ( 3 people) depends
  on scale of each product development
