Firmware Architect – Storage & Computer

 

Role and Responsibility:

1. Own Storage and Compute system firmware high level design and contribute to project development plan

2. Support the engineering team to create and refine firmware key modules design

3. Support function managers to analyze the complicated FW/SW requirements and respond to customer enquiries  

4  Work with platform system architect to explore new solution and system architecture

5. Research firmware/software new technology and deliver technical training to engineering team

6. Develop firmware/software PoC for new technology and able to demo to the customers

7. Mentor engineering team for common firmware IP modules design and development

8. Able to take hands-on work per needs, including coding new modules and fixing complicated issues

9. Join customer meetings and answer firmware/software technical questions

 

Qualification Requirements

1. Bachelors or Master degree in EE, CS, or CE.

2. More than 15 years of working experience on server and storage products

3. Act as firmware architect or development lead for more than 8 years

4. Master Intel X86 server, storage and various industry standard protocols - SCSI, SAS, SATA, RAID, PCIe, NVMe, etc.

5. Firmware development experience on BIOS, BMC, SES, networking is a plus.

6. Strong debugging skills and experience with RTOS, Linux or Windows etc.

7. Strong firmware programming skills, C and script languages

8. Speak fluently in both English and Chinese Mandarine

9. Ability to effectively work with cross-functional teams and across geographical sites

10.Strong teamwork, communication and presentation skills.
