GENERAL MISSION

The Fitting Technician ensures the correct measurements, fit, and workmanship of Auchan textile garments products. She/he closely coordinates with France Pattern designers team to secure proper implementation of Auchan’s processes and requirements.

She/he receives style comments and relevant documents from Merchandising team; she/he checks patterns and sample and approves fitting for product within imparted deadlines.

She/he pro-actively works with France pattern designers and with suppliers to optimize measurement, fitting & pattern processes in order to improve approval processes lead-time and secures bulk quality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Measures all Size Set samples and controls conformity in term of measurements, according to size spec within requested time-frame

§ Checks basic pattern use

§ Checks Size Set Samples fitting on dummy, as well as style and garment specifications / workmanship; identifies the problem(s) if any, and provides practical solution(s).

§ Gives approval for fitting part or coordinates with France Pattern designers team if he/she needs help to make his/her decision.

§ Clearly and timely communicates with Auchan merchandiser the conclusions of her/his checking, on requested format.

§ Requests and validates with Pattern designers corrections of RSIP specifications if necessary; in order to achieve expected fit .

§ He/she will manage Size Set in full respect of counters comments to approve fitting , workmanship.

§ Filters PPS before sending to France

§ Shares Auchan quality requirements and patterns with QC team to involve them in the project

§ Knows perfectly inner supplier process for product development , knows supplier pattern masters

§ Regularly ,gives support in factory, before or during production stage to make sure supplier follows our requirements.

§ Can attend PP Meeting to secure measurements and fitting conformity, by checking PPS set and pattern before bulk production.

§ If any incident related to fitting/measurements during production, can join Quality Controller to find and implement corrective solutions.

§ Ensures suppliers’ correct understanding at the time of pattern development stage and checks pattern and samples grading accuracy. Identifies pattern discrepencies and gives information to Pattern designers to update pattern.

§ Assists Pattern designers whenever travelling, facilitates communication and ensures suppliers’ implementation of Auchan requirements (in term of specifications and lead-time) in full autonomy.

§ Trains new vendors on patterm requirements & process, to facilitate and improve Approval process lead-time of products’ measurements, fit .

§ Maintains patterns library (hard paper patterns and files in dxf with samples stamped)

KNOWLEDGE

• Proper IT knowledge, including Photoshop, Illustrator and C-Design software.
• Strong understanding of fit, pattern making, Grading & apparel garments’ specificities during production process.
• Good pattern making knowledge in garments.(Preferred)
• Adequate fabric knowledge.
• Good command in reading / writing garment fitting related comments in English (French is a plus– as she/he shall be interacting with French Modelists) .
• Cross cultural communication skills
