Position Summary:
Provides guidance and leads tactical day-to-day activities within the assigned work area to achieve safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity goals. Responsible to conduct daily standard work; evaluates existing processes to maximize efficiencies, improve sustainability, and develop best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintains a safe work environment and a high level of safety awareness within the work area. Models excellent housekeeping practices through 5S implementation with appropriate audits.
- Organizes and prioritizes the work and flow of parts.
- Manages inventory levels and accuracy within the area; orders parts and materials as needed.
- Cell.
- Collects and maintains data and completes required reports. Responsible for the timely implementation of assigned countermeasures for all key business metrics.
- Backfills team member positions for employee vacations, absences, reassignments, etc.
- Assists in set-ups and changeover/ Tier meetings.
- Works closely with and builds positive relationships across a variety of departments and functions within the facility.
- Actively participates in performance management and development of Production Associates by providing input to Value Stream Manager.
- Listens, supports, engages and encourages employee suggestions and input to achieve excellent results. Mentors cell associates to improve their skill sets and overall effectiveness.
- Conducts training and cross- training to team members.
- Participates in fact-based analysis with VSM Team to create current state Value Stream map of the end-to-end Value Stream.
- Follows standard work and provides continuous feedback to team members to assure all are using standard work and are striving for continuous improvement and alignment with the Value Stream objectives.
- Facilitates daily cell metric reviews, responsible for continuous improvement activities including; auditing standard work, 5-S, and quality conformance.
- Provides guidance for the Cell to make certain that products are manufactured with the highest level of quality in a safe and timely manner that will meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Participates in Value Stream Key Performance Indicators (KPI) reviews. Responsible for overseeing the timely implementation of assigned countermeasures.
- Acts as a role model in innovating processes, with a positive mindset and a passion to achieve short- term and long-term goals.
- Supports Value Stream Manager and Supervisor in execution of assigned tasks and initiatives.
- Performs all job duties in a safe manner, consistent with the Code of Ethics and the 4-I Values, and follows all ISO standards.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- High school education and 1-2 years of manufacturing work experience.
- Ability to perform or learn all tasks required. Understands processes, equipment and procedures for that area.
- Strong leadership and decision-making ability.
- Actively recognizes and promotes people as our core asset to the organization and models our 4-I Values.
- Clearly understands Company policies, rules and regulations that apply to the role.
- Has knowledge, training or experience in PPI-Lean enterprise, or, has strong capability to gain required knowledge. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.
- Makes fact-based decisions and applies a mindset for Lean Management, gaining Value Stream efficiencies and continuous improvement.
- Possesses a continuous improvement mindset and desire to improve all aspects of the Value Stream.
- Working knowledge of other business functions (Materials, Financial, Sales, Engineering and Human Resources) is a plus.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel as required, <10% of the time.
- Working conditions require the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, and work at a computer station and on manufacturing shop floor.
- Ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs; occasionally lift 40 lbs.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:
- High school education and 1-2 years of manufacturing work experience.
- Successful completion of Work Keys assessments identified for this position.
- Ability to perform or learn all tasks required. Understands processes, equipment and procedures for that area.
