Role overview:

This role offers an exciting mix of responsibilities in the field of Engine and e-Powertrain CFD (excluding gas performance CFD with reactive flow and/or combustion model), with an opportunity to evolve towards a CAE leading position.

The role encompasses the following responsibilities:

• Provide expertise to all Ricardo Shanghai staff on Fluid Dynamics related issues

• Identify when CFD action is required and which CFD to perform according to Ricardo Global standards

• Give advice on component optimization & validation according to CFD feedback

• Represent Ricardo Shanghai in all CFD related discussions

• Contribute to good CFD practice and standards within Ricardo Global CAE teams

• Provide guidance to Ricardo customers on CFD related topics

• Work on complex CFD issues and write CFD reports, tests specifications, tests reports

The Role:

Develop within Ricardo Shanghai Engine, Transmission and e-Powertrain Design, Analysis and Performance Simulation team

• Carry out CFD analysis tasks using in-house, open-source or commercial software packages and provide results to the wider design and analysis team / stakeholders

• Expected to take a proactive approach to CFD work within the Ricardo Shanghai Engineering department, working closely with Engineering colleagues and supporting the wider Shanghai team

• Produce comprehensive CFD reports to justify components and system design to Ricardo customers

• Work interactively with Ricardo stakeholders to provide CFD expertise and direction to optimize component and system design in terms of Cost / Quality / Performance targets

• Support / mentor junior members of the Ricardo Shanghai Engineering team, giving encouragement & support and actively taking part in their development

• Setup a network of partners within Ricardo Global CAE teams to develop standards, CFD requirements, project work acquisition and global CFD support & training
  
  

The ideal candidate:

• Strong experience in the field of calculation and analysis for engines and/or e-powertrain

• Experience with the applications of CFD using in-house, open-source or commercial packages

• Full understanding of engine working and component roles, understanding of e-powertrain working and components roles is a plus

• Knowledge of Linux environment is desirable

• Open minded and result oriented, with strong analytical skills

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic organization

• Influential and articulate in both written and oral communication Chinese / English

• Willing to travel and comfortable working across a range of cultures

Qualifications:

• BS or MS in automotive engineering with major in CAE/CFD
