What you will be doing:
- Assist in leading, mentoring and training the Food & Beverage Operations team
- Supervise and delegate duties; ensure brand standards are maintained
- Liaise with kitchen to ensure the highest standard of food quality and visual appeal
- Ensure restauant is prepared for reservations with on-going communication with the kitchen
- Assign serving sections to servers and assistant servers
- Ensure a high level of guest service and ensure all guests leave satisfied with their dining experience
- Assist staff with closing procedures when necessary
- Update communication log book with daily results and happenings
- Ensure restaurant stations are stocked appropriately
- Assist with monthly forecasts, weekly schedules, communication meetings, and month end comments for the department
- Implement and develop promotional, service oriented and revenue generating programs
- Ensure a safe working environment for all staff
- Ensure a complete understanding of health and safety regulations, fire regulations and evacuation procedures
- Ensure all equipment is in good working order and all maintenance issues are addressed
- Motivate staff to contribute to the overall success of the department
- Encourage teamwork and professionalism throughout the department
- Implement relevant staff and guest suggestions
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the dining room
Your experience and skills include:
- Service focused personality is essential and a passion for everything food and beverage
- Previous experience in a similar leadership role required
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities and the ability to lead by exampl
- Effective communicator and must have excellent interpersonal skills
Physical Aspects of Position include but are not limited to the following:
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
- Constant kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

For over 91 years, Fairmont Royal York has stood proudly as a Toronto landmark. When the hotel opened in 1929 it was the tallest building in the British Common Wealth and contained 1,048 rooms, a concert hall, library, extensive bakery, radio station and even a hospital. Today, this essential downtown landmark has completed a multi-million dollar transformation, reimagining its lobby, rooms, dining venues, event spaces, and Fairmont Gold – the property’s exclusive hotel within a hotel luxury experience.
