Job Description

The Waldhaus Dining Room & Pub is looking for an experienced Food Porter to join our team!

Overlooking the stunning Stanley Thompson Golf Course, the Waldhaus is the ultimate place to relax and enjoy the mountain scenery. Featuring German-inspired alpine cuisine, a wine cabinet and an atmosphere reminiscent of a rustic hunting cottage, we promise to set the tone for a memorable dining experience at our "House in the Forest”. 

Our Porters are crucial to a memorable guest experience and will prioritize a number of tasks while supporting the servers including helping on the floor, clearing tables and polishing glassware.

What you will be doing:
•    Completing opening and closing duties, i.e. daily cleaning, stocking outlets, pub and patio set up and maintenance, dining room preparation, moving and arranging tables and chairs, reservation bookings, confirmations and cancellations, coordinating FOH and BOH with regards to services, guests, allergies, VIPs, etc.
•    Transporting food from the kitchen to the dining room and pub in a quick and efficient way
•    Assist Food & Beverage Servers in all aspects of the dining experience
•    Assist guests regarding menu items in an informative and helpful way
•    Have knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods

Your experience and skills include:
•    Must have Pro-Serve Certification
•    Previous food and beverage experience in a high volume and fast paced environment preferred
•    Must be able to carry and serve 3 plates at one time
•    Schedule flexibility, including early mornings, late nights, weekends,holidays
•    Must be able to lift and carry up to 40+lbs and be able to be on your feet for 8 hours or more
•    All other duties as assigned

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
