Job Description

Foreign Instructors report to the Foreign Academic Manager & respective Center Managers

1. The FIs will be required to work 5 days a week from Monday to Sunday. 


2. FI’s may be scheduled between 08:00 to 21:00 from Monday to Sunday based on your contractual Academic Hours (ACH) and other related duties. 


3. FIs are required to adequately prepare for classes and course-related administrative duties.

2.5 ACH lesson = 1.5 hr prep time
2 ACH lesson = 1 hr prep time
1.5 ACH lesson = 45 min prep time
1 ACH lesson = 30 min prep time
0.75 ACH lesson = 20 min prep time
0.50 ACH lesson = 15 min prep time

Exception: If a teacher starts the day at 8:00 on weekdays or on weekends and has a full day schedule, prep time is implicit (meaning he/she can prep for any lesson in between classes).

4. As part of ACH, the FI may be required to teach some off-site courses or to substitute for unscheduled absences of other teachers.


5. In addition to lesson planning and course-related administrative duties, the FI will be required to perform other reasonable duties as instructed by the Employer, including, but not limited to, demo classes, interviewing students for placement testing, developing materials, giving workshops, organizing team extra-curricular events and participating in marketing activities. These will not count as ACH (except demo classes), however, they will be taken as the FIs contribution to the school’s development and will count in the FIs favor when considering the performance appraisal bonus. 


6. For the first 20 days, the employed party will get full time training.

7. Professional Development:
- Evaluate own performance and progress
- Attend and participate in workshops offered by the school
- Observe colleagues and be observed by the FAM & colleagues
- Take initiative to start new projects to improve the school (product offering,
improving teaching skills through sharing knowledge with colleagues, etc.)


Requirements
1. An authenticated/notarized Bachelor’s Degree
2. A TEFL Certificate obtained from an accredited institution
3. Passport holder from the USA, UK, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand with +1 year teaching experience.
4. If not from the aforementioned countries, please make sure you have at least +2 years of teaching experience.
5. An authenticated/notarized clear criminal background certificate
6. Willing to live in China for one year
7. Being creative, willing to go an extra mile for your students and take initiative for your professional development as well as the school’s development
