The foreign homeroom teacher is going to work with the Chinese homeroom teacher on the development of the primary school curriculum. The students are going to study in a 50-50 English-Chinese language immersion mode. The foreign homeroom teacher is responsible for the development and implementations of the IB PYP units of inquiry and the English language proficiency.

Responsibilities:

- Take on the role of the homeroom teacher in a school class
- Manage and supervise the classroom behaviour and learning
- Implement the units of inquiry and conduct formative/summative assessment
- Develop students second language competency
- Take part in the single subject classes - PE, visual arts, performing arts, library, lego and
philosophy classes.
- Collaborate with the co-homeroom teacher and the TA
- Develop lesson plans and unit planners in accordance with the rules and regulations of
the school
- Take part in collaborative planning sessions with the PYP coordinator
- Report to the principal on the development of the students
- Engage in dialogue with the parents and other members of the community
- Represent the school at events and workshops
- Take part in mandatory IB workshops at a time arranged by the school

Requirements:

- English speaker or non-native speakers accepted for subject positions
- Kindergarten or lower primary school teaching experience
- Experience in the IB Primary Years Program a plus
- PGCE or a BA in Education preferred or relevant degree in the applied position
preferred (Arts degree for Visual Arts Teacher, etc)
- Montessori or Reggio experience a plus
- A positive and enthusiastic attitude working with children
