Are you an empowering leader passionate about bringing new medicines to patients? The Franchise Director - Oncology provides the strategic leadership of the DDR (LYNPARZA) Franchise in the AstraZeneca Oncology portfolio, including leading the AZ/Merck Alliance co-promotion.
Responsibilities:
- Leads all aspects of commercial activities, including marketing strategy/execution and field team/promotion, across multiple indications with LYNPARZA, KOSELUGO, with more to come
- Provides the leadership, intellectual impetus and will act quickly to build and execute the Franchise business plan to achieve revenue and earning objectives and to maximize the overall Oncology commercial promise
- Uses strong critical thinking to assess variables including market trends and opportunities, competition, research progress, etc., to craft strong near- and long-term commercial strategies, including successful launch / go-to market strategies aligned to the strategic direction
- Leads the team through the complexity of multiple indications and tumour sites, with LYNPARZA (Ovarian - SOLO-1, SOLO-2; Prostate – PROfound, PROpel; Breast – OlympiAD, OlympiA; Pancreas – POLO), KOSELUGO (adult and pediatric NF-1) and future molecules/indications
- Navigates and shapes the dynamic oncology healthcare delivery system with different diagnostics (gBRCA, tBRCA, ctDNA), surgical, radiation and medical oncology, depending on the tumour type, enabling positive patient outcomes and positions AstraZeneca as a leader in Oncology
- Adapts and delivers in an ecosystem where the rapid pace of science, readouts and approvals is common place and complex healthcare delivery and payment models exist
- Encourages cross-functional alignment of the sales organization with marketing and internal teams to build a focused, results-oriented and collaborative business
- Focuses the organization on launch execution and delivery, with a drive and passion for winning and will have a broad sales and marketing toolkit to make the adjustments needed to empower the team to operate at peak performance
- Influences and shapes EUCAN and Global Oncology brand, franchise and tumour strategies, through robust new insight generation, and innovative thinking to position Canada as a global leader and a primary market within AZ
- Leads and develops the Oncology Sales teams, brand Marketing teams, Strategic Insights, Professional Education and Future Portfolio teams
- Holds full P&L responsibility and positively works within the Alliance for alignment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Relevant Field: · MBA or Master Degree is an asset
- Strong leadership and team building skills
- Seasoned pharmaceutical/biotechnology executive with 10 years of experience and proven leader with sophisticated general management, strategic marketing, and sales management skills with a solid track record of accomplishment
- 5+ years of oncology experience
- Has a solid scientific foundation
- Demonstrates strategic and tactical abilities to build and successfully implement a comprehensive commercial plan
- Highly organized with attention to detail, strong understanding of how to get the job done; strong operating skills and acts quickly with strong cross- functional partnership
