Overview & Key Responsibilities: This R&D role is responsible for leading and managing the System Architecture activities within the Physicians Office Laboratory Franchise in the Point of Care business line for Siemens Healthineers, located at the Edgewater site in Norwood, MA. The System Architect uses transdisciplinary and integrative approaches to enable the successful translation of customer and business needs into a realized system solution. This senior level role is expected to work with multidisciplinary product development teams to ensure all aspects of a system are considered as part of the realization process. This includes, but is not limited to, defining design concepts, development strategy, methods, standards, product requirements, documentation, and trade-off decisions. This role will be a key stakeholder in technical reviews and collaborate closely with product owners. This role will require a strong understanding of medical device quality and regulatory requirements. This role sets an example and defines the behaviors and initiatives needed to establish and maintain systems-thinking. The successful candidate should be able to effectively communicate and influence multidisciplinary project teams. Required Education, Experience & Skills: BS or BA in science or engineering discipline. Advanced engineering or science degree in Product Development is a plus. 10+ years in the medical diagnostic IVD field in a product development capacity required. Prior management of multiple technical professionals is desired. Knowledge of the creation of a functional architecture for a complete system and of a technical realization concept over all its domain and technical aspects. Ability to evaluate different concepts with respect to technological and commercial aspects. Knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering and Digital Engineering methods. Ability to specify and integrate standard products, components, and subsystems according to the required functionality of the system and coordinates their interfaces and interaction. Knowledge of verification and validation of the concepts and specifications versus the requirements and standards. Ability to provide feedback and lessons learned to the Engineering Organization and R&D department.
