Ideal candidate possesses Marriott brand experience. Our downtown property is centrally located in a diverse community with a vibrant art, music and cultural scene that includes the 40-Watt Club, the remodeled Georgia Theatre, The Georgia Museum of Art, the State Botanical Gardens and The Classic Center as well as numerous other entertainment venues. We are adjacent to the University of Georgia - home to the Terry College of Business, The Grady College of Journalism, the UGA Veterinary School and the University of Georgia Bulldogs (Go Dawgs!). • Ambitious Assistant General Manager ready to take the next step. CHA or CLM a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience at the management level, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Prefer candidates with brand experience. Experience with select service property strongly desired.
• Professionalism in attitude, attire and communication style a must.
• Open availability required - our hotel is open 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
• Responsible for selecting, supervising and developing a staff of department managers in Guest Services, Engineering, Food & Beverage and Housekeeping who will then select, supervise and direct employees’ actions to maximize the company's mission of "pleasing customers at a profit".
• Ensure compliance with all Brand standards
• Practice "MBWA" (Management By Walking Around) the entire property daily documenting observations of cleanliness, productivity, staff and guest interests, and report to your management staff.
• Leads by example in areas of teamwork, following of policy & procedure, relationships with peers and subordinates and professional management practices.
• Will be part of a leadership team that includes managers from Human Resources, Sales, Accounting and Facilities.
