The franchisee controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including the selection and hiring process. If you accept a position at this hotel you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International.
The Dual Property - Director of Sales and Marketing will provide overall direction and guidance to business operations with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability. Plans and directs operations within the business to support the Key Performance Indicators. Plans objectives and ensures management is in compliance with corporate, franchise, and financial goals. Responsible for achieving the financial and profitability execution for the budgetary fiscal plan; must be strategist, problem solver, and a strong communicator who is well equipped to develop creative solutions and strong business case analysis to support key recommendations and /or proposals with the hotel General Managers, and Corporate Management. Builds, manages, mentors, and leads the management team for each line of company business. Both hotels are newly built and opening in fall of 2020. All opening programs will be developed by the Director of Sales for the sales team. The duties of the Director of Sales and Marketing include but are not limited to the following.
- Develop, recommend and implement key initiatives, strategic direction and tactical plans ensuring the completion of each by holding individuals accountable for assigned tasks.
- Hire, on board, train, orientate the Sales Manager and Sales Coordinator, as well as monitor team member performance reviews and salary surveys.
- Analyze hotel performance and develop targeted and measurable strategic plans for improving performance.
- Lead a high-performance team by effectively coaching and developing employees, fostering teamwork within and across the organization.
- Assist the General Manager & Assistant General Managers in daily operations and sales of the hotels and act as GM in the GM's absence.
- Maximize revenue through cost control, yield management and ongoing sales calls.
- Develop and review quarterly sales plans and annual marketing plans, and ensure the compliance of implementation.
- Must have the ability to analyze monthly P & L for ongoing control of expenses and maximization of revenue.
- Analyze the STAR report and make recommendations.
- Partner with the Revenue Management to include, but not limited to, determining sales pricing strategies, developing rates, establishing group thresholds, determining space utilization policy, deploying competitive data strategies, conducting demand analysis and managing market mix
- Communicates with customers and team members regarding changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives, and technologies.
- Coordinate and Plan quarterly hotel sales blitzes.
- Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as on-the-job training, use of computers and software, interpersonal skills, quality & process issues, and product knowledge.
- Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheet, and familiarity with brand specific property Management System(s);
- Ability to exercise excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management and listening skills;
- Ability to use analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel;
- Ability to successfully interact with all levels of customers and hotel management;
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field;
- Experience: Minimum 3 years hotel sales experience or the equivalent amount of industry experience;
- Professional dress, speech, and behavior;
- Valid driver's license;
- Up-beat, engaging, have self-motivation and the ability to work in a team environment;
- Outstanding leadership qualities, moral, and ethical character;
- Have a strong supervisory and management skills with high customer service expectations;
- Ability to work effectively with people regardless of their age, gender, race, ethnicity, religion, or job type;
