Job Summary
Leadership Development
Program
The Hotel Rooms Supervisor will participate in a rotational leadership development
program in the hotel's room division, which consists of the front office,
housekeeping and spa departments. The two year program consists of a
combination of on-the-job training and management responsibilities with an
emphasis on leadership development. At the end of the program, the Hotel Rooms
Supervisor will have a comprehensive knowledge of the daily operations of the
rooms division and enhanced management and leadership skills
The Hotel Rooms Supervisor supports the management team with the day-to-day
activities of the hotel’s rooms division to ensure operations, guest service
and communication meet Forbes and Luxury Collection brand standards.
Management Job Duties
- Assists the management team with the training, coaching and supervising of team members, to include assigning and monitoring work and providing counseling.
- Conducts daily pre-shift meetings with team members to communicate pertinent brand, hotel and department information.
- Understands, communicates and enforces performance, Forbes and Luxury Collection brand standards (including QA operational).
- Controls and monitors daily labor, expenses and product.
- Participates in the interviewing, hiring and onboarding of new team members.
- Acts as manager-on-duty on a regularly scheduled basis.
- Each department’s training will vary based on the needs and responsibilities outlined below:
HOUSEKEEPING ROTATION
Job Duties
- Prepares daily work assignments for the housekeeping and laundry teams.
- Conducts regular audits of the property to assess cleanliness of guest rooms, storage areas, laundry room, restrooms and public spaces.
- Conducts inventories of linen, guest amenities and cleaning supplies; assists in ordering supplies as needed and maintains the forecast/budget and financial responsibilities of the department.
FRONT OFFICE ROTATION
Job Duties
- Monitors and controls all pre-arrival and post-stay communications.
- Oversees and assists the front desk and bell/door attendants with the arrival and departure process.
- Manages and assists in the enrollment of guests into the Marriott Bonvoy membership program and the environmental "Make a Green Choice" program. Ensures that Bonvoy members are appropriately recognized.
- Coordinates the needs/requests of VIP guests in conjunction with the concierge team.
- Monitors and tracks guest survey responses, researching opportunities brought by guests, celebrating and recognizing top performers and formulating responses.
- Generates weekly and month end reports on training and goal achievement.
- Leads the department upsell program.
- Manages the balancing of the house and rooms controller responsibilities focused on maximizing revenue potential at the front desk.
SPA ROTATION
Job Duties
- Oversees and assists at the front desk by checking guests in/out of the spa, accepting payments and answering questions.
- Assists with inventories of linen, guest amenities, back bar supplies and retail; assists in ordering supplies as needed and maintaining the forecast/budget and financial responsibilities of the department.
- Inspects cleanliness of locker rooms, storage areas, staff break room, treatment rooms and public spaces throughout shift.
- Assists with the needs/requests of VIP guests and group bookings.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; two or four year degree preferred
- Guest service experience
- Supervisory experience preferred
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic math skills
- Intermediate computer skills using Microsoft Office and a variety of hotel programs
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- Ability to pay close attention to details
- Self-motivated
- Ability to build strong working relationships with all levels within the hotel

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
